Dancing on Ice has been on our TV screens since 2006, when Olympic champions Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean began to train celebrities in skating.
Dancing on Ice fans are growing bored of the ITV show’s “tired” format and have been left begging for a shake-up.
Viewers have now vowed to stop watching, fuming over the format, the scoring, the presenters and the routines. Turning to X – formerly Twitter – during Sunday’s episode (January 12), one fan moaned: “I don’t know why but Dancing on Ice makes my blood boil.
“It’s Strictly Come Dancing from the frozen foods aisle. If ITV are broke and need to save money, axing this would be a good place to start. I hate this show. But this won’t stop me from hoping Janine wins.”
Another fumed: “Why do all the songs feel old and done a million times over? So boring, like ITV have run out of sh**s or money.”
Someone else commented that the show is “on its last legs”, while another said: “Good grief, Dancing on Ice really isn’t what it used to be, is it?”

Others were left fuming over the programme’s tribute to drag queen The Vivienne, who was found dead at their home aged just 32 earlier this month. The Vivienne appeared on the show in series 15 and finished in third place.
But while hosts Holly Willoughby and Stephen Mulhern interrupted the show to pay tribute to the RuPaul’s Drag Race star, some fans branded it “appalling”.

Holly said: “Before we move on, like us, many of you have been saddened by the tragedy of The Vivienne’s passing last weekend. Now, they were a huge part of the show, making it all the way to the final in 2023 and they’ll be very sorely missed. Our thoughts are with The Vivienne’s loved ones at this sad time. So sad.”

They quickly shifted gears to announce what would be happening later in the show, while viewers fumed on social media. One said: “THAT’S IT? Not even a black and white image? Appalling.”
“I thought that they might have said/done a little more when it came to paying homage to The Vivienne, showing previous clips or a dance routine in memory perhaps,” someone else agreed.
