Mohamed Salah is still eyeing up some big achievements at Liverpool as his contract standoff with the club continues.
The Egyptian sent yet another reminder of his current situation after helping the Reds to victory over Manchester City on Sunday. Salah recorded yet another goal and assist in the 2-0 victory, before admitting that it could be the last time he faces City at Anfield – echoing his previous comments at Old Trafford.
His latest comments came less than a week on from him declaring he is “more out than in” at Anfield as he waits for a contract offer to arrive. It’s now suggested that Salah has made his desire to stay at Liverpool clear, although the club might be driving him away.
According to The Athletic, Salah would accept a new one-year deal with the Reds, although he is growing increasingly exasperated at the club’s handling of negotiations.
Despite interest from top European clubs, with Paris Saint-Germain being linked with a free transfer, the 32-year-old is said to have not entered any discussions with other sides as his current deal does not allow him to do so. Of course, that will change in January, when he will be entitled to sign a pre-contract agreement with a foreign club.

The forward is claimed to believed that he will maintain his levels beyond this season, having already recorded 13 goals and 11 assists in 20 appearances during the current campaign. What’s more, he is ‘desperate’ to win the Premier League and Champions League with the Reds this season.
And, despite turning 33 before the start of next season, Salah still holds the ambition of winning the Ballon d’Or, and feels age will not be a barrier to it. Liverpool though is still yet to make an offer to the Egyptian, having not approached him about extending his stay until the start of the current season.
Liverpool.com says: Liverpool really does need to get a move on now. Of course, contract negotiations aren’t as simple as giving a player what he wants, but Salah has firmly left the ball in the club’s court now.
It becoming increasingly clear that he feels he can still prove to be a world-class player at Anfield, and he’s demonstrating that perfectly this season. Even if it is just a one-year deal, Liverpool should absolutely be making an offer very soon.
