Vito and his fellow finalists had a tough but exhilarating final week in which to showcase their exemplary culinary skills for the judges.

Firstly, they were tasked with taking charge of the lunch service on the luxurious British Pullman train.

Before then whipping up a dish which is inspired by someone special in their lives.

The most daunting and hardest challenge was their penultimate task – The Chef’s Table.

The trio had to up their game and produce an exquisite dish for a table of six gastronomic trailblazers including a double Michelin-starred chef.

The final culinary task saw Vito, Craig and Rochenda asked to whip up their Ultimate Dinner Party Menu, with the two courses needing to be the best food they’d ever produced.

In a bid to impress, Vito opted to serve a main of Scialatielli Allo Scoglio – an Italian seafood pasta dish packed with clams, mussels and prawns.

While his dessert was named Babà Di Vito, a small cake soaked in rum and served with zabaione, a marsala wine cream and cherries in syrup.

Discussing his menu, Vito shared: ‘One day, my family and I went to Positano and we had this Scialatielli Allo Scoglio, just eating in front of the sea. It was one of the best days ever, so I want to bring that day to MasterChef.

‘The dessert is Babà, which is like my mum and my Nonna used to make for me on Sunday.’

And Vito’s heart and passion certainly paid off as he follows in the footsteps of the likes of Wynne Evans, Lisa Snowdon, Greg Rutherford and Lisa Faulkner to join the ranks of great Celebrity MasterChef past winners .
