The Chase fans spotted a series of clues leading to accusation of “a fix” on the popular ITV game show as Anne Hegerty took to the podium
Fans are accusing the show of a fix
The Chase fans are blasting the show as “a fix” after some tell-tale signs on the latest episodes of the popular quiz show.
During Friday’s visit (December 20) to the ITV studios, beloved gameshow host Bradley Walsh welcomed four new quizzers onto the show looking to put their general knowledge to the test.
As fans tuned in for the primetime show, the former Coronation Street star introduced contestants Linda, Sadie, Ian and Conor onto the programme where they battled it out to take home the all-important cash prize.
This week, the quartet went up against Anne ‘The Governess’ Hegerty who is widely known as one of the strongest chasers on the show.
But fans were sunned when the brainiac got a whopping four questions wrong on the first round, sending a player who performed terribly into the final. It didn’t end there, as her terrible performance continued.
Annw gave a rare poor performance
After Paul Sinha’s equally surprising flop on an earlier episode as he too struggle with easy questions, fans aren’t buying it an believe it’s an intentional move by producers.
“Why have the best chasers been so bad lately? it can’t be a coincidence? do you think ITV is doing it to make the show easier or better for the players?” one fan asked on X.
Another agreed: “#thechase this must be a fix coz paul was terrible the other day too what is going on ITV?” More chimed in remarking on Anne’s performance: “Is this Anne’s not-so-bright identical twin sister on the show?”, “What is Anne doing?!” and “Damn Anne, what’s going on?”
Earlier this week, Bradley Walsh was heard asking the contestant’s if Paul Sinha “was going to get it wrong” before he did get it wrong as well as multiple other questions.
Anne got a series of answers wrong
The series of similar events has fanned the flames for fans as the brainiacs are normally hard to beat.
“What a fu**ing fix this is,” blasted one player. “That was 100% scripted them asking if they think the Chaser will get it wrong when in fact he gets it wrong.
Classic ITV.” Penned a second. A third added: “Why did the chaser getting that wrong feel scripted?”
But some fans also noted the stand-up comic is battling Parkinson’s disease and could have been having a bad day.
“Paul seems to be playing badly today. I hope he’s ok given his diagnosis.”
Another added: “Paul’s got Parkinsons remember people. He freely admits in his autobiography it will get worse but he’ll carry on quizzing for as long as he can.”
