Strictly Come Dancing star Pete Wicks has finally spoken out about his romance with Maura Higgins following her exit from I’m A Celebrity.

Strictly Come Dancing star Pete Wicks has finally addressed his romance with Maura Higgins following her stint on I’m A Celebrity.

The two reality stars have been romantically linked over the past few months, with Maura seemingly confirming their blossoming relationship while in the jungle.

Pete, 36, has now broken his silence on the topic while speaking on the Staying Relevant podcast, which he co-hosts with best friend Sam Thompson.

The former Made in Chelsea star, 32, has spent the last three weeks in Australia presenting the ITV2 spin-off show Unpacked alongside Joel Dommett and Kemi Rodgers.

On the podcast, the duo were catching up on recent events when Sam explained how he had interviewed Maura following her elimination from the jungle.

Sam confessed that he had no intention of discussing Pete’s romance with Maura, admitting that “loyalty to Pete beats everything”.

However, the former TOWIE star hit back: “It does until the leaving interview, and you say ‘welcome to the family’, so I guess that one just sort of slipped out did it?”

Despite Sam’s accidental revelation, it was Maura herself who added fuel to the fire as she candidly opened up to her campmates.

The Love Island star, 34, admitted she was seeing someone before she went into the jungle, but insisted they were not in a relationship.

Maura elaborated on her feelings during an appearance on This Morning shortly after her departure from the show.

In conversation with Alison Hammond, she confessed: “You do forget about the cameras, and I do like to keep things private, but let’s be real, I said it. I can’t remember saying it, but I said the words ‘I miss him’.”

The TV star added: “I do miss him, like I missed all my friends and family. Honestly, he’s been so supportive, honestly. I didn’t know if he was still in Strictly and I’m so proud of him, he’s proud of me, and I can’t wait to see him when I get back.”

Maura was captured making another confession about Pete during the Coming Out show last Friday (December 13).

She said: “If you’re missing someone, you’re missing someone and it comes out. And I do, I miss him. Yeah, I really do miss him.”

The reality star was also seen inquiring with her friend Talia about Pete’s status on Strictly Come Dancing before he was eliminated in the semi-final.

Maura and Pete reunited once she landed back in the UK, sharing a snapshot on Instagram from the ME hotel in London, surrounded by friends.
