Keir Starmer humiliated as Christmas song mocking him tops sales and downloads charts

The song has amassed over two million views on Youtube and has reached the top 40.

A song mocking Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer has topped the downloads and sales charts – but missed out on the Christmas number one.

Parody act Sir Starmer and The Granny Harmers released their song ‘Freezing this Christmas’, which uses the same melody as Lonely This Christmas by Mud.

The new song takes aim at Sir Keir and his Labour Government cutting winter fuel payments.

It has already earned 14,000 sales – despite the fact it has not been played on the radio.

The BBC has refused to air the song, which is now number 37 in the Official Singles Chart.

The song has also raised £35,000 for charities supporting the elderly over winter.

Some of the lyrics in the song include: “It’ll be freezing this Christmas, without fuel at home. It’ll be freezing this Christmas, while Keir Starmer is warm. It’ll be cold, so cold, without fuel at home, this Christmas.”

It was written by Chris Middleton. He got Dean Ager to sing on the record.

Speaking to GB News, Mr Middleton said: “It just shows you how much the song resonated with people. The message of it, how much anger there is.”

“We made a big song and dance about it. This was an issue that Labour had brought in the summer and they tried to sweep it under the rug.

“We’ve certainly hopefully embarrassed them publicly,” he added, suggesting the campaign helped bring Labour’s winter fuel payment policy “back into the public consciousness.”

Mr Ager told The Telegraph: “Chris contacted me and said ‘I’ve got this song – can you do it?’

“When he told me we were number one on the iTunes download charts, I was jumping around in excitement like a little kid.”

The BBC has not played the song depite the despite there being no policy stopping them from doing so.

A spokesperson for the broadcaster said: “Decisions about which tracks we play are made on a case-by-case basis in line with what our audience expects to hear.”
