Ahead of notching her 23rd double-double, Angel Reese dropped her first-ever Reebok shoe collection. With Shaquille O’Neal as its president, Reebok is about to bring some serious A-game. And this release seems to be just a teaser.
To celebrate, the WNBA rookie gifted her shoes to some friends and well-wishers, including La La Anthony. However, La La’s ex-husband, Carmelo Anthony, might not be too thrilled about it.
The MTV VJ shared a close-up snap of the sneakers on her IG story, and wrote, “So proud of you, @angelreese5, on your @reebok collection. Continue to inspire so many of us!!! Love u always,” along with a white heart emoji.
Now, the New York Knicks icon not only endorsed the Jordan Brand as the first signature athlete but is also a huge fan himself. The basketball legend has an almost insane collection of Air Jordans and sneakers, including a few in his name and some gifted by Michael Jordan.
“I was excited to have my own signature shoe with a Jordan Brand or a brand like that. And then we actually made a great shoe. So I’ll always be grateful for this sneaker right here,” Melo had said in a conversation with Architectural Digest.
Now with Reebok looking to overthrow its competitors, a friendly banter would only be natural.
But while Melo might not be up for it, La La is all too excited. The actress often gives a shout-out to Chicago Sky rookie and a reciprocation is only so much she could ask.
Angel Reese continues to soar in dominant fashion
Just a few days ago, while the WNBA star was facing criticism for sporting NBA legend Dennis Rodman’s jersey, among many was also Anthony who showed her support by dropping heart emojis on Reese’s Instagram post showcasing her Rodman-inspired outfit.
“Chicago hottieeeeee,” Melo’s ex-wife commented on one of Reese’s posts, highlighting her best look. The Chicago Sky rookie has quite a sharp sense of fashion. Her first collection of shoes reflects that personal style.
The design is inspired by her aesthetic. The collection features some exciting colorways of the BB 4000 II, Premier Road VI, and Classic Leather lifestyle shoes.
But that’s not all. The line-up also includes a track jacket, graphic t-shirt, and bodysuit, with the basketball star actively involved in the design process.
“The collection features a range of performance and lifestyle offerings designed to showcase my own personal style, both on and off the court, and to give women the confidence to showcase their own powerful feminine energy on every occasion,” Reese told Complex.
Released on August 23, many are speculating, as Reese hinted, that the brand is gearing up for a surprise. Her first signature shoe might be on the way soon.
