HARD PASS Netflix reveals new NBA series starring LeBron James – but basketball fans already want to skip an episode

NETFLIX has announced a new NBA series following LeBron James and other of the league’s stars – but not all basketball fans are impressed.

The streaming platform revealed its newest sports series, Starting 5, is set to premiere on October 9.

The Netflix show will be a 10-part series and provide a behind-the-scenes look at the 2023-24 NBA season through the perspective of five of the league’s stars.

The players will be the Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron, Miami Heat’s Jimmy Butler, Minnesota Timberwolves’s Anthony Edwards, Boston Celtics 2023-24 NBA champion Jayson Tatum and Domantas Sabonis of the Sacramento Kings.

Fans will able to see James play in his 21st season, Edwards’ rise in stardom, Butler struggles with injuries, Sabonis and his multi-faceted play, and Tatum helping the Celtics win their 18th championship.

However, social media users weren’t interested in Sabonis being included in the set of shows.

“Like this comment if you’re skipping the Sabonis episode,” one wrote.

“Get Sabonis off my screen,” another commented.

“Sabanis? Who makes these decisions?” a third asked.

The 28-year-old Sabonis made his third All-Star team last season, averaging 19.4 points, 13.7 rebounds and 8.2 assists.

He led the league in rebounds, double-doubles, and triple-doubles.

Still, the Netflix show will likely revolve around James, Edwards, and Tatum.

LeBron, who’s one of the greatest players of all time, was part of a Lakers squad that lost to the Denver Nuggets in the first round of the NBA playoffs.

Still, the NBA icon’s star power will be enough to attract plenty of eyes.

Edwards’ popularity has risen due to his personality and mentality.

He led the Timberwolves to their first Western Conference Finals appearance since 2004.

And Tatum helped lead the Celtics to an NBA title.

The Netflix basketball documentary series will be produced from LeBron’s Uninterrupted, Barack and Michelle Obama‘s Higher Ground Productions, and Peyton Manning’s Omaha Productions.

Rumblings of the show first surfaced last year.

Maverick Carter will also be an executive producer.

This is the latest Netflix project with Uninterrupted and follows former and upcoming shows Hustle, The Redeem Team, and Naomi Osaka, among others.
