Meghan Markle is bracing for the release of her latest cookery show for Netflix but one expert was critical of her latest move.

Meghan Markle’s new trailer for her latest project on Netflix has been heavily criticised by a brand expert who described her stint as “painfully forced”.

The Duchess of Sussex welcomed 2025 with a big bang as on New Year’s Day, she launched her personal Instagram account with the handle @meghan, years after staying off social media following her marriage to Prince Harry in 2018.

Meghan made two new posts since then, one short video which showed her at the beach and another one which was her new trailer for her new cookery show on Netflix, finally revealing its title With Love, Meghan.

Prince Harry’s wife can be seen making various dishes in front of her friends and guests which include actresses Mindy Kaling and former Suits star Abigail Spencer, as well as chefs Roy Choi and Alice Waters.

But the eight-part series, which will launch on the streaming platform on January 15, has been blasted by brand expert Eric Schiffer, who claimed her latest project is “a recipe for ratings disaster.”

Mr Schiffer told Fox News: “It feels painfully forced. I think it’s proof that not all royals are entertaining.

“Just looking at it, I was… Is this Netflix or the Montecito Home Shopping Network?”

Meghan accompanied the new trailer with the caption: “I have been so excited to share this with you! I hope you love the show as much as I loved making it.

“Wishing you all a fantastic new year! Thanks to our amazing crew and the team netflix. Beyond grateful for the support – and fun!”

Meanwhile, a promotional synopsis of the show said: “This inspiring series, produced by Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, reimagines the genre of lifestyle programming, blending practical how-tos and candid conversation with friends, new and old.

“Meghan shares personal tips and tricks, embracing playfulness over perfection and highlights how easy it can be to create beauty, even in the unexpected. She and her guests roll up their sleeves in the kitchen, the garden, and beyond, and invite you to do the same.”

But Mr Schiffer was critical of the show’s premise and believes it will not go down well with the public.

He noted: “Showing cooking tips from someone with a personal chef is not groundbreaking … the least relatable lifestyle show ever.”
