Helen Skelton had to step in during a chat with Anton Du Beke on Monday’s edition of BBC Morning Live.

The 41-year-old presenter was discussing the upcoming Strictly Come Dancing Live! tour with Anton, 58, who serves as a judge on the show, and Tasha Ghouri, 26, the runner-up from the latest 2024 series.

Helen, herself a former Strictly runner-up from 2022, joined the conversation alongside her co-host Gethin Jones, 46. Gethin greeted the guests with: “Anton, Tasha, lovely to see you. Happy New Year! Anton, is this your third year on the arena tour? So you can tell us exactly what to expect!” to which Anton responded confidently: “Well, I can! Yes it is my third year but of course the lovely Helen was with us last year, was it last year? Time moves so fast!”

However, Helen quickly corrected him, saying: “No, I was your first year! Oh, you said you’d remember me forever!” to which Anton joked: “So we’ve already had another year between you and this year, who knew? Time goes so fast!”, adding humorously in a five-word response: “You must have been memorable!” as laughter filled the studio.

The Strictly theme continued with professional dancer Luba Mushtuk present for the show’s Strictly Fitness segment, while Dr Punam Krishan, a contestant from the 2024 series, appeared for her health segment, making it a full-on Strictly Come Dancing reunion on the programme, reports Wales Online.

BBC Morning Live’s Helen graced the dance floor of Strictly Come Dancing in 2022, finishing as a runner-up with professional partner Gorka Marquez. The pair faced tough competition from fellow runners-up Fleur East and Vito Coppola, as well as Molly Rainford and Carlos Gu, but it was Hamza Yassin and Jowita Przysta who ultimately took home the Glitterball trophy.

Reflecting on her Strictly journey on the Off Menu podcast, Helen revealed recently: “Even as someone who’s been in telly my whole adult life, I totally underestimated the eyes and the expectations and the perceptions that are put on Strictly.

“You walk out onto a dancefloor, bearing in mind you’re wearing a massive hair piece that’s not yours, and all of that is designed to make you feel amazing and a costume that’s designed to make you feel amazing.

“But if it’s not yours, you’re still a bit like ‘oh my gosh, what is happening to me? Am I alright about this?’ Whilst also having to keep in your head a whole dance routine as well.”

She added: “I was glad that I got the chance to stay in as long. I didn’t mind what people thought about me because I was in it and the longer I was in it, the more I enjoyed it and found my feet. And so I didn’t really mind what people were saying.”
