Gino & Fred: Emission Impossible viewers ‘turn off’ and ‘work out’ why Gordon snubbed show

Gino D’Acampo and Fred Sirieix’s new ITV show Gino & Fred: Emission Impossible left viewers unimpressed.

Viewers of Gino and Fred: Emission Impossible voiced their mixed reactions to the recent episode of the ITV show, which aired on Tuesday (December 17).

The series, featuring Gino D’Acampo and Fred Sirieix, takes audiences on an environmentally-conscious journey exploring the flavours and traditions of Austria and Croatia.

The duo’s travels took them to a crowded Dubrovnik, Croatia, where they were taken aback by the extent of ‘over-tourism’. However, not all viewers were enamoured with the programme. Disgruntled comments soon flooded social media, criticising various aspects of the show.

A disappointed viewer on Twitter remarked: “Just swearing and eco misinformation! #ginoandfred beautiful scenery spoiled by two grown men who swear like they’re trying to impress. Switching off.”

Another disgruntled audience member decried: “EmissionImpossible what a load of b******s. Sold their souls.”, reports the Mirror.

Speculating on why Gordon Ramsay was absent from this installment, another viewer suggested: “No wonder Gordon swerved this one. Load of rubbish.”

In contrast, certain fans expressed appreciation for the light-hearted travelogue. One person praised the programme on Twitter: “#ginoandfred is decent TV. Love seeing the beauty of other countries. Not quite the same without the banter of Gordon Ramsey.”

Moreover, another fan applauded: “Funny, refreshing, this program has everything. Thank you Gino and Fred.”

During an exclusive chat with Express.co.uk, beloved maitre d’ Fred Sirieix disclosed details about an upcoming project sans Gordon Ramsay, citing travel dilemmas as the reason for his absence. Fred revealed: “Well, we don’t have one [a show] with Gordon and Fred, but me and Gino, we went to Croatia and Austria. But Gordon couldn’t travel so we both just went.”

Elaborating on how this shift impacted their dynamic, the suave frontman from First Dates said: “I mean, it’s kind of the same kind of thing I would do with Gordon, but it’s just me and Gino. Just the dynamic is a bit different.”

He also enlightened us about the nature of their travels: “We travel in these two countries and we are being conscientious travelers on a green mission. Maybe just as funny, though, I am not like a green guru or anything like that, but, you know, I’m genuinely concerned with what we do.” Fred then pondered the journey’s deeper meaning: “So it was, it was a way to explore and to interrogate ourselves and to interrogate the situation and to see where we are at and what’s going to happen in the future.”
