Amanda Abbington SKIPS out on big pay day as she turns down major reality show after Strictly hell made her ‘PUBLIC ENEMY NUMBER ONE’!

Amanda Abbington has turned down the offer to appear on ITV‘s Celebrity Big Brother, it has been revealed.

The Sherlock star, 50, quit the show abruptly in just week five of last year’s Strictly Come Dancing citing personal reasons, before going on to accuse the dancer of ‘mean’ and ‘cruel’ behaviour.

Giovanni was cleared of ten out of Amanda’s 16 allegations when the BBC probe concluded in September.

And now it has been revealed that Amanda has rejected a huge money offer to star in the upcoming series of CBB for fear of being trolled online.

A source told The Sun on Sunday: ‘Amanda decided to discreetly turn down the offer because she felt so traumatised by the last reality TV contest she was on.

‘She couldn’t face going through all the trolling that she received when she complained about Giovanni which made her feel like public enemy number one.

‘Of course, the fee for taking part would have been appreciated but she just couldn’t face it.’

The source added that Amanda has nothing against CBB and is a fan of the show herself.

MailOnline contacted Amanda’s representatives for comment.

Following his abrupt exit from the programme after the allegations from Amanda, Giovanni went on to appear on the Italian version of Strictly.

Just days ago, his comeback in the UK was announced as it was revealed that he will be appearing alongside a host of other TV stars in a new show for Channel 4.

Despite bosses finding Giovanni was not threatening or physically abusive, it did uphold some of Amanda’s complaints of verbal bullying and harassment.

The BBC also agreed with Amanda at times he appeared to be giving her overly negative feedback.

In a written statement, a spokesperson for Giovanni said: ‘We are pleased that this six-month review has not found any evidence of threatening or abusive behaviour by Giovanni.

‘Giovanni is relieved that the overwhelming majority of allegations out to the BBC have not been upheld and looks forward to continuing his work on Dancing With The Stars in Italy this season.’

Sources have told MailOnline Amanda’s bullying claims amounted to Giovanni swearing at her and not giving her enough feedback during their rehearsal sessions which took place last autumn. She also claimed that her partner stepped on her toe.

One said: ‘Giovanni has never tried to say he isn’t a hard taskmaster but he isn’t a bully and no evidence of that was found.

‘It was an evidence based investigation and there was simply no evidence to back up what she was saying about Giovanni. He denied it all along and he has now been exonerated.’

Sources close to the Sicilian heart-throb Giovanni say that he spent much time trying to counsel Amanda, who would admit herself that she was a ‘nightmare.’

Speaking of the ordeal eaarlier this month, Giovanni confessed he needs a break as he admitted Strictly is ‘tiring’.

Speaking on the How To Be Famous podcast with former Strictly contestant Debbie McGee’s nephew James Phelan, Giovanni said: ‘As I said before, you never know what is going to be next.

‘Strictly, like every other of those jobs when you have to give your life 100 per cent – they are quite tiring you know?

‘When I said I need a break, I need a break, but never say never?’

Giovanni also hinted at the end of his Adventures In travel series with Strictly judge and close pal Anton, 58.

The pair previously visited Giovanni’s native Sicily and Spain, however Giovanni admitted they are unsure of the show’s future.

He confessed: ‘No we don’t know yet. I think the budget for the BBC is quite low so we just keep doing what we are doing.

‘It’s a shame because it was a successful show, I think it had over four to five million viewers.’

The BBC declined to comment when approached by MailOnline.
