BBC Breakfast’s Naga Munchetty ‘SHAMED’ on air after Carol Kirkwood ‘SNUB’!

On Thursday’s instalment of BBC Breakfast, viewers saw Naga Munchetty and Nina Warhurst bring people the latest news and headlines.

It looks as though Naga Munchetty was left slightly red-faced during Thursday’s instalment of BBC Breakfast. The BBC presenter was informing viewers of the new stamps being released by The Royal Mail.

Her co-star Nina Warhurst shared there’s set to be 12 special stamps to commemorate iconic scenes from the beloved sitcom, The Vicar of Dibley. As snippets of the stamps appeared on-screen, Nina touched on how long ago the sitcom was aired.

She said: “Looking at that Naga, it’s the kind of show where I go, ‘Oh, it was only a few years ago’. But no, it was such a long time ago!” Agreeing that time is flying, Naga made a confession regarding their co-star Carol Kirkwood.

The presenter said: “We’re already at the time where we stop saying Happy New Year, apparently. I don’t think I’ve said it to Carol, though.” Shocked, Nina replied: “Have you not?! Shame on you.”

Defending her actions, Naga commented: “I don’t think so. I haven’t seen her!” Nina added that she could’ve popped Carol a message wishing her a good start to the new year, to which she agreed.

Handing over the segment to Carol, the long-running weather star confirmed Naga had, in fact, messaged her. She said: “You did message me Naga! And Happy New Year again to you both.”

After wrapping up the weather, informing viewers that temperatures are set to drop once again, Naga seemed to remember their interaction.

She told her co-star: “I did see the message! I checked, and we did send a message very early on New Year’s Day.”

Poking fun at Naga, Nina commented: “I’m sure you’re not the only one who can’t remember everything about the morning of New Year’s Day.”

Giving her a cheeky smile, Nina let out a small laugh as Naga moved swiftly on with the rest of the show.

Usually on Thursday, Naga presents the show with her male co-star Charlie Stayt. However, the anchor was absent from his regular spot, with Nina stepping in.

Although his absence wasn’t addressed during the show, many viewers were thrilled to see the two female stars on the sofa together.

Taking to Twitter, one person said: “Nina & Naga, now there’s a very nice two some indeed, need to be presenting more often together, tbh. More anchor women presenting these shows on a regular basis would be to one’s liking, marvellous, neat and pleasant in fact.”

Someone else wrote: “Hi Naga and Nina. What a wonderful surprise to see you two lovely ladies on the red sofa this morning. Thank you for bringing us the news and have a great day ahead. Love our BBC.”
