The latest episode of Only Connect saw the Cat Cows go up against the Sprouters during the quarter-finals, with Victoria Coren Mitchell hosting.

The latest instalment of Only Connect saw a major dig at former prime minister Liz Truss by Victoria Coren Mitchell. The BBC host lead the first quarter-final episode, where two teams battled it out to make it through to the next round.
As the Cat Cows and the Sprouters attempted to solve as many riddles and finding connections, there was one round which left one team rather stumped.
The Cat Cows – consisting of Iona, Max and Molly – failed to get a question right about the Bob Dylan song, Subterranean Homesick Blues.
They were given images which depicted the lyrics (basement, medicine, pavement and lastly government). Despite not knowing the connection, Victoria informed them that the last image used was of Liz Truss when she was in government.
In a savage dig, Victoria said: “Every quizzer likes to reflect on the 40 day premiership of Liz Truss,” which prompted the rest of the teams to laugh in response.
Some viewers noticed the brutal take on the former prime minister, with one taking to X and saying: “#onlyconnect Victoria will be getting a “cease and disist” from Truss.”
A second also chimed in: “Always good to troll Liz “crashed the economy” Truss on #onlyconnect.”

A third also similarly said: “How long before VCM and the OC gang are replacing Liz Truss with the current, wholly incompetent Government as people to troll?”
In the end it was the Cat Cows who managed to bag the win and make it through to the next round. After a nail-biting final few minutes, the first team pipped it at the last hurdle when they managed to get a connection about DNA right.
During last week’s episode, fans were left baffled over Victoria’s unusual wardobe mishap. At the start of the episode, she could be seen sporting a fetching floral pink outfit with red nails.
However, during a second clip, her red nail manicure was no where to be seen and she had bare nails despite being in the same outfit.
