Chris had a very amusing response to Dianne as the dancer ‘replaced’ him weeks after they won the hit dance show

They fought off competition from fellow finalists Miranda actress Sarah Hadland and partner Vito Coppola, Love Island star Tasha Ghouri and dancer Aljaz Skorjanec and JLS singer JB Gill and partner Lauren Oakley to lift the famous Glitterball trophy, which Chris as ‘astonishing’.

But their partnership quickly came to an end as while some of the class of 2024 continue their dancing journey this month, Chris was unable to sign up for the Strictly Come Dancing Live tour 2025 due to his own touring commitments with his stand-up show, Yonks!, leaving Dainne without a partner.

However, Dianne, who will still be part of the tour, did manage to find a new partner for another of her and Chris’ popular moves. Fans of the pair will know that they regularly kept them updated with posts on social media and as well as chatting about how training was going, they also partook in a few games, including ‘guess the flavour of the KitKat’ in which Chris would get Dianne to try the different flavours of chocolate bars he had sourced.

But while her dad, Mark, was in the UK over the festive period, Dianne decided to let him play the game with her. She shared the video evidence to Instagram alongside the caption: “The Christmas special of guess the flavour! Don’t worry production manager @ChrisMcCauslandcomedy has given the all clear to go ahead with the episode without him! Our special guest is the one and only MARK @mark.3802.”

Chris McCausland has been ‘replaced’ by Dianne Buswell as they carry on with their seperate projects weeks after winning Strictly Come Dancing.

As fans of the hit BBC One dance contest know, comedian Chris – who was Strictly’s first-ever blind contestant and winner – and professional dancer Dianne were paired together for the 20th-anniversary series of the show last September and were eventually crowned champions of the 2024 series following a glittering finale in December.

Chris has since responded to the post as he wrote in the comments section: “Wow. I’m speaking to my lawyers. You must’ve really wanted him back on that flight to keep it going that long.” Dianne then laughed in response: “My dad makes me look like the Einstein of Kit Kat tasting!”

Fans, meanwhile, were also quick to respond. @eddo_official said: “This is so cute awww!!! You should carry it on during tour even tho Chris is on his own it’s just so entertaining!!!” @buswellsdaisy commented: “It’s back and better than ever! Mark is hilarious!!” @meeks3172 wrote: “Hilarious! A great substitute but miss the original!!”
