Chris McCausland has been delighting fans over the festive period as he didn’t just suddenly disappear from screens following his Strictly Come Dancing triumph.
But the comedian has said he ‘will stop’ promoting once of his projects as he gave an update on his next huge career move which kicks off in January 2025.
As Strictly fans know, Chris won the 2024 run of the BBC One dance contest in December alongside his professional dance partner Dianne Buswell.
Chris, who was Strictly’s first-ever blind contestant, and Dianne were paired together for the 20th-anniversary series of the show back in September and were eventually crowned Strictly’s latest champions at the end of the 2024 series following the glittering grand final.
They beat fellow finalists Miranda actress Sarah Hadland and partner Vito Coppola, Love Island star Tasha Ghouri and dancer Aljaz Skorjanec and JLS singer JB Gill and partner Lauren Oakley to lift the famous Glitterball trophy, which Chris described in the aftermath as “astonishing”.
After Tess Daly announced them as this year’s winners, Chris cried and hugged his partner Dianne, with them both appearing to be in disbelief, before they were celebrated by their co-stars.

Following the end of the hit dance show, Chris was able to focus on the release of his Sky film, Bad Tidings, which he co-wrote as well as stars in alongside his comedian pal Lee Mack. After getting plenty of feedback on the film over the Christmas period, Chris vowed to soon stop talking about it.
In a post on X, formerly known as Twitter, the 47-year-old said: “I will stop plugging #BadTidings in a few days, but for now, if you haven’t watched it, watch it. If you have watched it, tell your friends to watch it – and then maybe watch it again anyway.” And in response, he got quite the feedback.
One of his followers revealed: “My 14 y.o daughter has watched it 5 or 6 times so far & she loves it. She talks about it & quotes it all the time. She even wanted me to order a ‘Tom Petty’ Pizza the other night (Double Pepperoni, thin crust with mushrooms). This is how you know a program is great! #BadTidings,” to which Chris said: “Absolutely love this! #BadTidings.”
But Chris is also looking ahead to what’s next as he prepares to head back out on the road after delaying his stand-up tour, Yonks!, to take part in Strictly. He confirmed: “My stand-up tour #Yonks continues in a couple of weeks time. The first three months of the year are completely sold out, but tickets are available for some dates from April onwards…”
