Dianne Buswell quickly got one of her Strictly Come Dancing pals excited at the mention of ‘babies’ as she continues to enjoy longed-for time with her family.

The dancer has had quite the end to 2024, having won the BBC One dance contest for the first time since joining the show as a pro back in 2017.

Dianne was paired with comedian Chris McCausland, who was Strictly’s first-ever blind contestant, for the 20th-anniversary series of the show back in September and were eventually crowned Strictly’s latest champions at the end of the 2024 series following the glittering grand final.

They beat fellow finalists Miranda actress Sarah Hadland and partner Vito Coppola, Love Island star Tasha Ghouri and dancer Aljaz Skorjanec and JLS singer JB Gill and partner Lauren Oakley to lift the famous Glitterball trophy, which Chris described in the aftermath as “astonishing”.

Since then, Dianne has been enjoying the Christmas festivites with her boyfriend Joe Sugg and her mum and dad, Rina and Mark, after they made their way over to the the UK from Australia in November and saw their daughter peform live in Strictly’s very own ballroom for the first time before watching her win the whole series with Chris.

Dianne, Joe, Mark and Rina have since been joined by the rest of the family, including Dianne’s adorable nieces and nephews, with her posting regular updates online of the big Buswell Christmas here in the UK.

But one update seemingly got former co-star and fellow dancer Oti Mabuse excited. Dianne shared a sweet selfie of herself and Joe, who she met and fell in love with as they competed on Strictly together in 2018, before sharing pictures of one of their many outings with her family.

The Australian star captioned the post: “Boyfriend butterflies brothers and babies,” to which I’m A Celebrity 2024 star Oti replied: “Not me reading babies and getting excited.”

Fans, meanwhile, were quick to gush over the update. @team_buswell said: “Very very cute xxx loving the outfits.
