The star was recently voted off Strictly Come Dancing after performing while injured.

Strictly Come Dancing star Nick Knowles is currently facing a challenging recovery period after his exit from the show.

The DIY SOS presenter ended up in hospital after leaving Strictly, and has now revealed he will need “two or three months” of rehabilitation before he is back in shape.

Nick’s time on Strictly was plagued by a series of unfortunate injuries.

Early in the competition, he hurt his arm while changing a car tyre, leading to a bicep injury that he danced with during week two.

His bad luck continued into week three when a knee injury forced him to sit out while an episode of the BBC show was filmed.

Despite battling through these setbacks, Nick’s journey came to an end after he lost a dance-off against Shayne Ward.

The presenter has since shared health updates with his fans on social media, posting from the hospital ahead of an operation to reattach his bicep.

“Good morning, it’s really early on Thursday and I’m heading into hospital to have the first of my two operations,” Nick explained in an Instagram video.

“They’re going to reattach my bicep, which was the first thing I managed to damage during my time on Strictly – although I didn’t do it on Strictly. I did it when I changed a wheel on my car. Really unlucky accident.”

Following the procedure, Nick shared that the operation had gone well.

He added: “Bit of physio over the next two or three months and all should be right as rain and back to 100 per cent I think. So, that’s one down and one to go on the knee.”

After his early exit from the show, Nick paid tribute to his professional dance partner Luba Mushtuk, who supported him throughout his challenging time on Strictly.

In it, he gushed: “Your creativity and hard work is awesome and I couldn’t have gone on this adventure with a better partner. I’m sorry I couldn’t take you further into the competition because people should get to see the lovely dances you prepared in advance.”

He reflected on his experience during an appearance on the Strictly spin-off show It Takes Two, saying: “I think it was the right result in the end, and it means I can get the various bits falling off sorted. I’m having an operation on my arm this week and an operation on my knee in a couple of weeks.”

Nick also revealed that Luba will be choreographing the first dance for his wedding to fiancée Katie Dadzie in 2025.

Although Nick’s time on Strictly was cut short, the presenter has discovered a newfound passion for dancing.

He shared: “I really fell in love with dancing. Luba worked so hard on all the routines, and I felt like I let her down. I desperately wanted to do more.”

While he focuses on healing now, Nick has set his sights on possibly joining the Strictly tour next year.
