The One Show’s Alex Jones couldn’t contain her excitement when she took to screens with Roman Kemp to reveal some heartwarming news to viewers.

The pair were on hand for another episode of the show on Monday (October 21). And with the festive season approaching, Alex had some big news to share with viewers.

She said: “We have got some exciting news, because this year The One Show is teaming up with The Repair Shop to give one of you a very special Christmas treat.”

Delving further into the details, she continued: “So if you have a treasured possession that needs repairing or sprucing up, we would love to hear from you.”

Her co-host Roman was equally enthusiastic about the collaboration, insisting: “I promise you this is one of the best things you could ever do.”

Adding a personal touch to the announcement, Roman recalled the tale of his cherished family Christmas Angel which had been savaged by the dog but was lovingly restored. He recounted: “It was honestly, it made Christmas last year.”

Viewers were then treated to an emotional segment showing Roman’s mother Shirlie overwhelmed by the revival of her precious Christmas decoration, prompting Alex to comment on the sentimental moment: “You can hear she’s emotional, lovely!”, reports Wales Online.

Meanwhile, in a more sombre update from Alex’s world, the Welsh presenter revealed her personal difficulties during an episode of the Binge! podcast with McFly drummer Harry Judd.

She spoke candidly about her family, relating: “It is a bit of a sad week, actually, because my mother-in-law, Annabel… she is a really, really beautiful woman, lovely.”

“And she has been over for five weeks from Auckland, staying with us, and she has just been there as we’ve settled the children into new schools, seen the new house, she is just a good person to have around.

“She pulls Charlie into line which is the key reason I love her but she left on Wednesday and that was really sad because we just don’t know when we will see her again,” she added emotively. Alex shares her life with hubby Charlie Thomson, and their adorable trio of youngsters, Teddy, age seven, Kit, four, and little Annie, two.
