Eamonn Holmes and Loose Women Panellist Ruth Langsford announced back in May that they had called time on their marriage

Eamonn Holmes has made a decision on his GB News return after lashing out at trolls over his age gap romance.

The TV star will be returning to screens after taking time off with his new partner. After three weeks away, Eamonn will be back on Monday alongside co-presenter Isabel Webster.

The 64-year-old was pictured on holiday with new girlfriend Katie Alexander who is 42. Eamonn and the relationship counsellor were seen together on a cruise as they enjoyed the last of the summer sun.

The pair have been criticised for their age gap after Eamonn and wife Ruth Langsford announced that they were going their separate ways back in May.

However, he will now be returning to his GB News job. The Daily Mail reported: “Eamonn’s had a lovely break and has enjoyed spending some time with Katie. But he’s looking forward to getting back to work. Eamonn’s had a tough few months with health issues and his split from Ruth. But throwing himself into work has really helped. He can’t wait to get back to the day job.”

Following the negative comments he has received, Eamonn has liked a series of posts slamming trolls and asking people to be kind. Eamonn liked a comment which said: “So many nasty comments! If you can’t say anything nice don’t say anything at all…”

While another said: “Everyone learn to be kind with the comments on here. Just leave him alone.” Despite Katie and Eamonn going on their romantic cruise, it was actually reported that the trip was a freebie that Eamonn was given due to signing a deal with holiday company Not Just Travel.

In return for some social media content, Eamonn was able to take his girlfriend along with him on the Virgin Voyage trip. A source said: “While it looked like Eamonn had whisked Katie off on a no-expense-spared trip away, it didn’t actually cost him a penny. It was part of his deal with Not Just Travel so, if anything, he was actually paid to go – which was very fortuitous indeed, especially because he could take a plus one with him.”

They explained that Eamonn “had to film some segments to promote the company” and that he was allowed to take a plus one along with him. Ruth and Eamonn announced earlier this year that they had split and were getting a divorce.

The former couple share a 22-year-old son named Jack together, and Eamonn also has three grown-up children from a previous marriage.
