RICHARD Madeley has opened up on his daughter Chloe’s divorce from I’m A Celebrity star James Haskell.

Chloe, 37, and James, 39, are heading on holiday together despite their recent split.

Personal trainer and TV personality Chloe welcomed daughter Bodhi with her ex-husband back in August 2022.

Chloe’s father revealed the pair are going to France together, calling their separation a “very happy uncoupling.”

And he said he’s kept a friendly relationship with his former son-in-law.

Richard told us: “Chloe is very happy, she and James are going to France together, they have a very happy uncoupling.

“It’s a very civilised relationship – we see a lot of James, he’s at the house quite a lot, either with Chloe or without.”

He added: “I go for a drink with him from time to time. It’s all good.

“It’s a very civilised divorce. The co-parenting is going really well.”

They announced their split earlier this year after James was forced to deny any wrongdoing following photos of him with a mystery woman.

The split came after they filmed a reality show together.

The famous family were seen delving into the world of reality TV with their show Chloe Madeley: A Family Affair.

Devoted mum Chloe, the daughter of TV legends Richard and Judy Finnigan, later released a statement confirming the couple had decided to part ways after five years of marriage.

In the joint statement, she said: “James and I mutually decided separate at the end of September, 2023.

“We had not planned on releasing a statement at this time – certainly not while the television show was airing – but constant speculation about our marriage has, unfortunately, forced our hand.

“Beyond this statement, we will not be speaking about this matter publicly, and we would request privacy at this time.

“Our sole focus now is our beautiful daughter. We shall continue to co-parent with nothing but love.”

CHLOE DEFENDS EX

“There’s kind of like a heavy insinuation that he’s not a nice guy, ” Chloe told The Sun on Sunday in an interview last month.

“And look, James and I went through our battles. But we’re co-parenting really well, and 50 per cent of that accolade is on him.

“I want him to have some of that respect from people, which I don’t see him getting.”

She added: “I honestly think James and I are doing a fantastic job and I’m very proud of us both.”

However, the health guru admitted she initially found it far harder than James did to be friends for their daughter’s sake.

She explained: “James is a very practical person and I’m not, I’m a very emotional person.

“For him it wouldn’t make sense that we broke up our marriage and then still carried on absolutely hating life and hating each other’s company.

“For him it was a matter of being very practical, like, ‘We better make an effort and get on and do this properly.’ I’m a much more emotional person.

“But I also am so in love with my daughter,— she’s my whole entire world. So there was no way I was going to drag my daughter into some ridiculous kind of child-weaponising, toxic situation.”

The pair get on so well that fans have even speculated that they are secretly back together, because they look so happy in family snaps.

However, Chloe revealed that they have both definitely moved on — and in fact, she expects the former England player to find a new partner soon.

She said: “It’ll probably happen for James long before it happens to me, if it hasn’t already. I’m waiting for the conversation to happen at some point.”

As for her own love life, Chloe admitted: “I’m very, very single — like, painfully single. I don’t ever get approached, honestly.

“I have a very anti-social, ‘Don’t talk to me’ face, so I think that might have something to do with it.”
