Good Morning Britain’s Ed Balls was told to “get out of the gutter” by his co-star on Thursday’s episode of the ITV breakfast show as they talked about Halloween costumes

Good Morning Britain’s Ed Balls received a sharp rebuke from his co-host who told him to “get his head out the gutter”.

During Thursday’s (October 31) episode of the popular ITV breakfast show, Ed and co-presenter Kate Garraway dived straight into the day’s top stories.

They were joined by entertainment reporter Richard Arnold, and the conversation quickly turned to trending Halloween costumes as many prepare for the annual celebration.

Introducing Richard, Ed asked: “We have Richard Arnold in the studio. Halloween, what is going on?”. Richard shared that “nepo baby” is a popular costume this year, but Kate pointed out it might be difficult to “pull off” as it could look like you’re wearing regular clothes.

The celebrity expert began by saying: “We’ve rounded up what has been trending as the top Halloween costume for 2024 plucked straight from the world of showbiz.”

He added: “Popular this year is pop star Charlie XCX and of course Sabrina Carpenter is expected to be copied this year.” Another favourite and I do like this is nepo baby, which are children of famous people and the Beckham boys spring to mind.”, reports the Mirror.

Richard Arnold announced that he will be taking an extensive leave from the show

Kate interjected: “That seems like such a hard costume to pull off if you don’t actually look like the person because it’ll look like you’ve just got normal clothes on.” Richard claimed: “Actually it’s quite a good costume.” Kate agreed: “Yeah it can be quite easy.”

Ed seemed confused by Kate’s comment, prompting him to ask: “What do you mean pull off? ” Kate clarified: “Pull off. You know, pull off the costume. I don’t mean take it off.”

Ed responded: “Oh I see you. Thought you meant actually pulling off the costume.” Richard intervened, asserting: “Achieve the look Ed. Get out of the gutter.”

Kate couldn’t help but laugh as Richard went on: “Wear your costume proudly because Brooklyn Beckham said in a recent interview that he is not ashamed of the title and he has grown to accept that he is always going to be criticised no matter what he does.”
