Good Morning Britain in DOUBLE HOSTING shake-up as BOTH Susanna Reid and Richard Madeley are REPLACED by familiar faces – and viewers aren’t IMPRESSED!

Good Morning Britain saw a double hosting shake-up on Monday as both Susanna Reid and Richard Madeley were missing from the news show.

The hosting duo were not in their usual seats behind the GMB desk for the breakfast show, with Susanna away on holiday for a full fortnight.

Instead they were replaced by familiar faces Ed Balls and Kate Garraway, both 57, who took over hosting duties.

But while the two are no strangers to the show, viewers were not impressed with the choice with some ITV fans even sensationally demanding they be taken off air.

Taking to X to share their irritation, one viewer wrote: ‘@GMB Ed Balls & Kate Garraway presenting, no thanks, not for me. Serious journalism please.’

Another accused Ed of not being qualified for the hosting role, writing: ‘Get ed balls off the tv he’s a proper b*****d not a clue what he’s doing’.

While another said: ‘God knows how Ed Balls got that job’

And other GMB viewers made it clear they weren’t a fan of Ed, commenting: ‘Why is ed balls on makes my skin crawl …’.

This isn’t the first time viewers have complained about a host shake-up.

Last week fans called out ‘obvious’ tension between Richard, 68, and Kate.

Fans of the show were treated to the rare duo after Kate replaced fan-favourite Susanna Reid.

But viewers were not pleased with the combination and even believe they spotted tension brewing between the two breakfast show hosts.

ITV viewers noticed that Kate seemed ‘irritable’ towards Richard and ‘constantly interrupted’ her co-star.

Taking to social media, GMB viewers shared their thoughts on the new pairing, writing: ‘Kate really does get irritated by Richard. So obvious’.

Others noticed that she often cuts off her co-star and commented ‘Kate Garraway interruption count 6268’.

Another said: ‘How many times can Kate cut Richard off in mid sentence? He starts to speak, she interrupts him.’

Some viewers praised Richard not seeming frustrated with his co-star’s interruptions.

They took to X to say: ‘#GMB #KateGarrawaywell done Richard on remaining calm when Kate talked over him a couple of times there.’

One fan commented: ‘Richard has a calming influence on Kate, it’s lovely’.

Since Ben Shephard’s, 50, departure from the show earlier this year, Richard is usually joined by Susanna Reid, 54, with other hosts sometimes stepping in, such as Adil Ray, 50, Charlotte Hawkins, 49, or Laura Tobin, 43.

But this is not the first time fans have noticed Kate interrupting and last month the star was scolded by her bosses and told to ‘let the guest talk’ in an awkward moment during an episode of GMB in November.

The TV presenter welcomed comedian Babatúndé Aléshé to the studio for an interview where he dished out his best I’m A Celeb survival tips and share his opinion on this year’s line-up, after going Down Under himself as a campmate who took part in the 2022 series.

He was candidly explaining why he couldn’t take part in the Walk The Plank challenge, which saw him forfeit and break down in tears.

Kate quickly chimed in to share her own experience with the task when she gave it a go as a contestant in 2019.

Babatúndé explained: ‘When Charlene [White] walked out they drew the plank away after she got to the end, so I was like oh once I get there I’m stuck, and that was enough for me.’

Kate quipped: ‘It’s so windy, nobody tells you that. When I did it they took Ant and Dec downstairs for a bit because they were just checking all the security and I was like “What about us?”

‘It was so frightening and they always put tricks in like there was gaps, there was a seesaw. Mine was a stepladder down and then you go onto another plank and look down.’

She then talked about the science behind the fear of heights, explaining: ‘It is a very basic fear, the fear of heights.

‘There’s been a lot of research done and one piece of research was that they put crawling babies in a room in a Perspex square.’

Kate went on to explain the study, before joking: ‘We’re going off on a tangent here…’

After hearing a warning from the producers in her ear piece, she admitted: ‘They just told me to let you talk, it’s a fair point, you are the guest.’
