Kim Woodburn herself was a contestant on ITV’s I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! in 2019 and she is very unimpressed that Coleen Rooney has an agreement to skip certain trials

Former I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! star Kim Woodburn has savaged Coleen Rooney for refusing to take part in some trials.

Fans of the long-running ITV reality show may be dismayed to learn that 38-year-old mum-of-four Coleen will be exempt from some trials – giving her something of an easier ride over her other contestants. She was the first star of the upcoming 2024 season to be named – and has been paid a record breaking amount for involvement in the show.

But despite the mega paycheque – which is expected to exceed £1.5 million – the WAG won’t be immersing herself for a full experience on the celebrity popularity contest. House cleaning expert Kim, 82 – who starred on the ITV show in the 2009 season which was won by Gino D’Acampo – has slammed the footballer’s wife for failing to take on the challenges of the show at full tilt.

The How Clean Is Your House star has predicted Coleen will make for boring viewing – but is sympathetic to the fact the WAG has been exempt from some trials due to a medical condition. She also reiterated that she does not dislike the star – who is known for suing her enemies in court.

Coleen reportedly won’t be involved in some trials due to medical reasons

Kim told The Sun: “Coleen Rooney will not be able to do many trials because she has a form of arthritis, which sad as it is. We know, we know it’s sad, so I think she’ll be very limited to what she can do.” But the former campmate then asked: “Then, why are they still taking her in there?”

Fearing the star will make for a dull contestant, Kim said: “I don’t want to watch Coleen.” And she added: “I don’t dislike the girl at all, but you don’t take somebody in there to sit on that long all the time eating rice… If that’s how they’re going to form the show, it will be like watching paint dry.” The Mirror has contacted Coleen’s representatives for comment.

While Kim hints she won’t both tuning in to watch Coleen sitting around the campfire, one person who is believed to be itching to watch her on TV is her arch rival, Rebekah Vardy. The ladies were friends until they explosively fell out in 2019 when Coleen accused the mum-of-five of selling stories about her to the press. This then escalated into a legal battle that cost almost £2 million.

It has been reported that Rebekah and her lawyers will be closely reviewing what Coleen says on the show in case she brings up their vicious dispute. Brand and culture expert Nick Ede claimed Rebekah would be willing to launch a new lawsuit if any of Coleen’s comments could potentially defame her.

He previously told the Daily Mail: “100% Rebekah will not be happy that Coleen is going on the show. She will be keeping her eyes and ears glued to the screen in case she can garner any nuggets from Coleen that could potentially defame her. Rebekah famously went in the jungle herself and for Coleen to be following in her footsteps will add insult to injury.” He added: “Coleen is a very private person so for her to agree to this will and to appear on the jungle producers will be wanting her to spill more beans about the Wagatha Christie case.”

Fans of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! only have a few days to wait before the 24th season of the show begins. It is due to start airing on Sunday 17th November – with Love Island’s Maura Higgins, McFly’s Danny Jones, and Dancing On Ice’s Oti Mabuse also rumoured to be taking part.
