Three deaths were confirmed on Good Morning Britain as one presenter shared some devastating breaking news.
Good Morning Britain was paused as a presenter announced some devastating breaking news.
Monday’s instalment (December 30) of the ITV programme saw Richard Madeley and Charlotte Hawkins share the top headlines of the day with viewers across the country.
In the studio to deliver the rest of the day’s news was Marverine Cole, who tragically revealed that three foreign tourists had died after a fire swept through a backpacker hotel in Bangkok.
One was found dead at the scene and the other two sadly passed away after being transported to the hospital.
Thai media reported that the three tourists, including one female, passed out from smoke inhalation before losing their lives.

The fire erupted on the 5th floor of the six-story Ember Hotel on Bangkok’s Khao San Road, a popular destination for tourists in the Thai capital, shortly after 9pm local time.
The flames were eventually contained at around 10:30pm, while the cause of the fire is now under investigation.
75 people were staying at the hotel at the time of the fire and were evacuated. Seven were injured, including two Thai nationals and five foreigners.
Bangkok Governor Chadchart Sittipunt highlighted the significance of safety in light of the incident, particularly as the New Year’s Eve countdown celebrations draw near, which will include fireworks and various festivities throughout the city.
A fire service spokesman said: “At 9.26 pm, fire crews arrived at the scene of the fire at a six-storey hotel building.

“The fire was on the fifth floor. There were two people trapped in a room. One was a male and the other a female.
“Hotel staff helped 40 people from the roof of the building and fire crews entered to extinguish the fire. Smoke was filling all of the top floors.”
Khao San Road stands as one of the most bustling locations in Bangkok, attracting thousands of backpackers who crowd the street each evening.
Located in the Banglamphu district, near the Chao Phraya River, it has emerged as a popular destination for travellers from across the globe.
Rooms in budget hotels along Khao San Road start at a price of 200 Thai baht (£4.68) per night.
