The countdown is officially on as the new series of ITV’s I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! is set to air this weekend.
On Sunday night, ITV viewers will watch a fresh batch of campmates leave their life of glitz and glam behind as they head down under to the I’m a Celebrity jungle.
However, they won’t be in for an easy start as the celebrities will need to bring their A-game straight away. ITV has promised the launch of this series will be the ‘most competitive’ yet.
Once they’ve paired up, they’ll have to take part in a string of challenges, battling it out against their fellow campmates to try and cross the finish line first.
Along the way, the celebrity pairings will get opportunities to overtake and fight to the finish. Those who are crowned the winners will be given special privileges and an easy adjustment to jungle life.
Not only will they be the first camp leaders, the two winners won’t have to do any chores and will get to sleep in the Leaders’ lodge and will run the camp exactly how they’d like.
There’s set to be a twist in store for this year’s campmates
Inside the luxurious lodge, the campmates will have two comfy beds with mattresses, be sheltered from the rain and get a relaxing night’s sleep in plush duvets and pillows.
ITV viewers may notice something a bit different this year as the notorious camp leader chair has undergone a transformation. Instead of a singular throne, there will now be two red leatherbound seats for the two equal leaders of the camp.
The two leaders will have to work closely together at all times to rule and ensure that their fellow campmates adhere to their assigned chores.
However, that’s not all. The campmates need to be on high alert. ITV has teased a hidden twist that is guaranteed to shake things up for the housemates.
This year’s I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out of Here! campmates
This twist is set to unlock more power and additional perks than ever before for the camp leaders.
This year, there are 10 new faces entering the Australian jungle, including the likes of Oti Mabuse, Alan Halsall, Jane Moore, Dean McCullough, Tulisa Contostavlos and Melvin Odoom.
Also taking part in this series will be TV Personality Coleen Rooney, Barry McGuigan, Grace ‘GK’ Barry and Danny Jones.
Despite the show kicking off on Sunday night, there’s one celebrity who is already a front-runner to win the entire series. McFly star and The Voice judge Danny Jones currently have odds of 9/4 to win the show.
Danny Jones is the frontrunner to win the show
Nicola McGeady of Ladbroke said: “Danny Jones is completely dominating the jungle betting before an episode has even been aired. Punters are confident that he will shine in the camp, with almost half of bets going in his favour.”
However, close behind is Coronation Street favourite Alan Halsall, whose odds of taking the crown stand at 5/1. Loose Women panellist Grace ‘GK’ Barry is the third favourite with her odds standing at 6/1.
On the other end of the scale, Jane Moore could be the first person to leave the show with her odds at winning at 33/1.
