The Morning and Bake Off star Alison Hammond has opened up about her relationship with her younger boyfriend David Putman.
Alison made a rare confession about her personal life
ITV star Alison Hammond has made a rare admission about her toyboy boyfriend. The 49-year-old TV presenter is dating masseur David Putman, 27.
Alison has been loved up with her boyfriend for quite some time after first hiding their relationship for almost two years. The pair met when she employed his services as a masseuse and they are said to be very happy together.
In a recent interview promoting her debut novel Bombshell, Alison spoke to RadioTimes and shared a playful remark when asked if the younger character in her book, Nathan, was inspired by her boyfriend. She responded: “I know what you’re playing at! My boyfriend David is 27 [while I’m 49] – but no, I didn’t even know David when I was writing the book.”
Alison also excitedly revealed the release of her novel, expressing her excitement on social media: “Exciting News!! My new book Bombshell is out Nov 7th. It’s my first novel, and I’m really excited for you to read it. More details to come, but a massive shoutout to @iamlisabent, couldn’t have done it without you, and not forgetting @beccabarrmanagement @penguinukbooks and me.”
The couple dated for almost two years before going public about their romance
Alison and David’s relationship was first revealed by her This Morning co-host Dermot O’Leary during a slip-up on air back in 2022.
Since then, the mum-of-one has opened up about their relationship. Alison revealed to The Sun: “He’s a lovely man and all I can say is that I’ve had him hidden for a year and a half. A year and a half I’ve been with him, and no one knew! He loves me to bits. He absolutely worships me and massages my feet every single day. What more do you want?!”
The Bake Off presenter has also previously spoken about how her teenage son, Aiden, reacted to her dating life on Rob Beckett and Josh Widdicombe’s Parenting Hell podcast. She explained: “It’s more difficult, he is more verbal now that he is older. He’ll want to know who this person is and he’ll want to meet them. It’s a lot harder. He’ll wanna know that this guy is treating me well.”
In this week’s edition, Alison Hammond spoke about her first novel Bombshell and similarities between her and the character in the story.
Alison continued: “The person who I am seeing at the moment, he is on his Instagram and is like ‘yeah I like him, he’s not too in your face’. Aiden is on it. When they actually met, he really liked him, he really thought he was lovely, so that’s nice. Thank goodness for that! Because normally Aiden hates anybody I date, literally just not interested. And you just know at that point, if Aiden doesn’t like them, this isn’t gonna work.”
Reflecting on her relationship with Aiden, she said: “There are moments where I think, ‘who’s the parent here?!’ It’s nice though because I always feel like there’s someone there looking over me, protecting me.”
