Good Morning Britain presenter Martin Lewis returned with a brand new series of The Martin Lewis Money Show on ITV.
Martin Lewis returned with a new series of The Martin Lewis Money Show
ITV viewers issued an urgent plea to Martin Lewis as he returned to screens with a new series of The Martin Lewis Money Show.
The Good Morning Britain presenter, 52, helped shed some light on the public’s personal finances less than 24 hours before Chancellor Rachel Reeves delivers her first Autumn Budget since Labour’s victory in the general election.
During Tuesday’s (October 29) live show, Martin was joined by retired sprinter Jeanette Kwakye as they discussed everything from energy bills, winter fuel payments, standing charges and smart metres.
With the show only on for one hour, Martin moved at an abrupt pace to ensure he could address all the current issues.
However, several viewers found the influx of information difficult to take in in such a short space of time and begged the money saving expert to slow down.
ITV viewers claimed the presenter was speaking too fast
Sharing their thoughts on social media, one wrote: “You need to be a mathematician to understand these energy rates. Simplifying it would be a good start.”
A second penned: “Martin’s show needs to be longer. There’s so much information, he has to go so fast it’s hard to keep up.”
Another begged: “Martin, please don’t talk so fast we try to take it all in, why do you have to pack so much in the show? My Wife and I were trying to understand the energy price cap etc but you moved too quick.”
A fourth pleaded: “Please hold the cameras still, stop constantly flicking between different angles when Martin is explaining & showing graphics. My head is hurting.”
Responding to the presenter on X, someone else admitted: “I like watching your show but I never understand what you are saying…”
Fans begged for the show to be made longer than 60 minutes
Another added: “Thank the Lord for @MartinSLewis – all of this info squeezed into less than an hour is incredible. It’s probably not humane for Martin though! Give this show more time!!! #MartinLewis.”
It comes after Martin shared “good news” regarding one Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) benefit.
He wrote on X: “CONFIRMED: Good news. The Carers Allowance earnings threshold will be increased from £151 to at least £183 in the #Budget tomorrow, starting April 2025. So carers can earn more and still receive the allowance.”
Martin added: “PS I’ve written at least £181 as it’s currently £151 and the confirmation is it’ll rise ‘over £30 extra a week’. We think as it’s based on minimum wage hours it’ll be £183, but that isn’t confirmed.”
