Chris McCausland, who held onto his place in the dance competition over the weekend, opened up about his Strictly aspirations and said he’d be a “nightmare” if he was sat at home

Chris McCausland has revealed that he would be a “nightmare” in an honest family admission about his so-far successful stint on Strictly Come Dancing.
The comedian is Strictly’s first blind contestant and has proven popular among fans of the BBC dance competition, with the 47-year-old even tipped to scoop the Glitterball trophy.
When discussing his Strictly aspirations, Chris, who is paired up with Aussie dancer Dianne Buswell, told the Times that he simply wanted to “represent in a good way” and “not be a disaster”.
Chris said: “That said, I’ve been working my arse off to make sure we don’t [get booted out of the show]. The last thing my wife and daughter need is me sat at home for two months with nothing to do. I’d be a nightmare.”
It would appear that even his comedy mates are backing him to win, as Chris revealed that Lee Mack messaged him to say that he was “f***ing glad” that he bet on him “weeks ago”.

In the latest episode, Dr Punam Krishan went head to head with Shayne Ward in the dance-off despite Chris finishing joint-bottom of the leaderboard, with the judges deciding to vote out Dr Krishan and partner Gorka Marquez.
However, some fans clearly weren’t happy with the results and took to X to share their grievances. One person said: “Punam was absolutely robbed. At least she danced. Gorka should have her faffing about on the spot #SCD #StrictlyComeDancing #Strictly.”
It probably came as a relief to Chris, however, who feared that he’d become Strictly’s “third victim” with a performance of the “dreaded” Samba.
The Samba has garnered a reputation for being a complex dance, something of which Chris was well aware. He previously explained that the dance was known for being “absolutely bloody horrible”.

Chris opened up about the “P word” in his diary for The Telegraph, saying: “Of course he went to town on my less than perfect posture, and I feel destined to hear him go on about the bloody P word for as long as I can remain in this competition.”
The funnyman impressed fans with his Halloween performance to Stayin’ Alive by The Bee Gees. He was dressed in sparkly attire, including a green wig, and racked up a score of 26.
