Strictly Come Dancing viewers were left fuming after a show decision placed contestant Chris McCausland at a significant ‘disadvantage’ in the semi-final.
Strictly Come Dancing viewers are up in arms over the apparent ‘disadvantage’ faced by contestant Chris McCausland, slamming the popular BBC dancing programme for not taking his needs into account.
During the recent instalment of the show, all duos had to take part in a frenetic Samba dance-a-thonthe event’s first comeback since 2018.
As judges scrutinised and progressively dismissed couples during the segment, the outcomes from the dance-a-thon played a key role in determining the final leaderboard rankings.
Unfortunately, Chris and his dance partner, Dianne Buswell, were placed towards the bottom after they were the initial couple to be ruled out, adding a mere sole point to their tally.
Concerned fans rushed to social media platforms to raise questions over the competition’s equality. One irate fan vented: “Whose brilliant idea was it to have a sambathon this year of all years, which put Chris at such a disadvantage, he might just as well have gone and sat in the toilet!!” (sic)

Another complained: “Dislike the anti Chris danceathon. Poor show #Strictly.” (sic) Another pointed out: “I find it shocking they chose this year to bring back the sambathon when Chris cannot see any of the other couples/be spatially aware of other couples. Like of course he’s gonna get voted off first? Not in good taste in my opinion #Strictly.” (sic)
An additional spectator chimed in with a sense of injustice, stating sarcastically: “We haven’t done the Danceathon for years, so let’s do it this year when we have a blind contestant.” (sic)
Comedian Chris responded enthusiastically to his low score, repeatedly shouting ‘yes’ when it was revealed that he had earned just one point for his performance, according to Nottinghamshire Live.

The star has since broken his silence following the furious reaction from loyal fans. Chris took to Instagram to reflect on his performance.
He wrote: “I was really proud of our dance on Saturday, and as for the Sambathon….[zipped-mouth emoji] ….Well thank you so much for all of your votes.
“You really did help us survive double Latin! See you tomorrow partner (Dianne Buswell), I’ll be bringing earplugs.”
