Dianne Buswell shared an emotional update with her followers after making a discovery.

The professional dancer, who was crowned the winner of Strictly Come Dancing alongside Chris McCausland in December, shares a close relationship with her parents, Mark and Rina, who reside in Australia.

The couple spent several weeks staying at Dianne’ Sussex pad, during which they were able to watch their daughter perform on Strictly Come Dancing for the first time in seven years.

Mark and Rina have now returned home, with Dianne sharing the sweet messages written by her parents which reduced her to tears.

The message said: “Thank you for the most amazing 7 weeks. Your generosity and kindness does not go unnoticed. Love always, mum.”

Alongside two tearful emojis, Dianne wrote: “Just found this letter from my mum.”

In a subsequent post, Dianne revealed her father had also left her sweet message as she shared a photo of the keepsake on Instagram.

“Love you more, Daddy,” was scrawled onto a heart-shaped blackboard, leaving Dianne emotional once again as she reflected on her parents leaving the UK.

Mark and Rina were able to watch their daughter lift the glitterball trophy with Chris, 47, who made history as the show’s first ever blind contestant.

But it was time for them to return home as Dianne issued an emotional update with her followers.

She began: “And just like that 7 weeks have passed by and it’s time for mum and dad to fly the nest back home to Australia today. But what a 7 weeks it has been. Honestly, moments that I had only dreamed of came to life and the best bit was that my parents were right there with me.”

Dianne added: “Already looking forward to the next time we can make memories together. Love you both very much. Safe travels home.”

Reuniting with her family was particularly important for Dianne after her father was declared cancer free after a course of chemotherapy treatment in early 2024.

Speaking about her dad’s illness in 2023, Dianne said on her YouTube channel: “Being away from home and not being able to support and help your family in a time of need is quite a difficult thing, so I did struggle a little bit last week in terms of that.”

She continued: “There is a little road ahead for my dad, but I believe 100 percent he is going to be fine and we are all going to get through it together.”
