Ben Shephard and Cat Deeley were back to front ITV’s This Morning on Tuesday

Ben Shephard admitted “I can’t see” as he opened up on his eye struggles during Tuesday’s This Morning.

At the beginning of the programme, Cat Deeley told viewers “It’s a bit touch and go” as she referred to Ben, who was forced to wear his glasses to present the show.

Before they even had a chance to introduce their guests, Ben jumped in with: “I think I’ve got it. I think it’s here, I think it’s here.”

“It’s very touch and go today, viewers,” Cat chimed in as Ben continued: “It’s uncomfortable, it’s giving me some jip. I am not sure they’re the answer.”

“Can you sound any older?” Cat joked. “Your what-focals are giving you some jip?”

Donning an impression of an elderly person, Ben said: “My varifocals are giving my jip, Cat, sort me out.”

Trying to move on with the programme’s agenda, Cat said: “We have got a great show for you today.”

As the duo began to tell viewers what was coming up on today’s show, they spoke with John Torode, who was in the kitchen to whip up some dishes.

Ben asked him: “Can we just have a quick moment? Why didn’t our lovely Craig win Masterchef, John?”

“Because Vito did,” he simply replied which led Ben to question: “But Craig was better, no?”

“But Vito did,” John repeated before explaining: “It is always difficult but Craig was great. He was really good, but it’s one of those things that happens.”

“Andi Peters asked me to ask why he didn’t win Celebrity Masterchef either and that was 10 years ago,” The This Morning host went on.

John said it was 18 years ago and that Andi would “hold a grudge forever”. Ben went on to apologise for interrupting: “But anyway, sorry, I’ll stop. ”

“No, you’re absolutely fine. I love the fact you can’t see properly,” John joked before sharing his own struggles: “It took me about a week and a half to get used to mine. I’ve got varifocals to do the same thing.”

When quizzed on why he wasn’t wearing them, the Masterchef judge joked: “Some of us are younger.”
