The WAG, 38, revealed to Susanna Reid and Richard Madeley on Monday’s Good Morning Britain that she struggled the most during the first week with the lifestyle change.

She revealed that she didn’t prepare herself before going into the jungle and suffered from a persistent headache after just three days.

Coleen, who is married to Manchester United legend Wayne, admitted that before going in she was more concentrated on getting her four boys, Kai, Clay, Kit and Cass, ready rather than preparing her body for the huge change.

She told the presenters: ‘After a few days in I was thinking ”what have I signed up for? What am I doing here?”

‘And then the headaches set in. Obviously withdrawal from caffeine, sugar and alcohol. And then the hunger, we didn’t get stars in the first week .

‘Dean didn’t succeed in the some of the trials so we were on limited food and the hunger was real. The first week was a struggle.

‘We got used to the rice and beans in the end. I will never cook rice and beans again’

Coleen, who was runner up on the ITV show, has previously opened up about how alcohol has been the cause of unhappiness within her marriage to Wayne.

In her new autobiography, My Account, she spoke candidly about the couple’s marital woes, which she believes were spurred on by Wayne’s alcohol misuse and in turn affected his mental wellbeing.

She revealed that his problems stemmed from ‘the pressure he’s felt ever since he was a young boy’, adding that she’s had to console him when he’s ‘hit rock bottom’ and has witnessed him ‘break down in his own silent way’.

Describing her husband’s history of heavy drinking, Coleen said: ‘Alcohol has a lot to answer for; as far as Wayne is concerned, it’s often been his downfall.

‘Often, when something is bothering Wayne, he bottles it up. Instead of coming out with the thing that’s bothering him, relieving himself of the burden, he pushes it down.’

Confessing she ‘hardly recognises him’ when he’s on a bender, she said her husband will ‘go off on one, behaving in a way that makes everything worse.’

Coleen Rooney reveals the reason why she decided to speak out

Coleen revealed that in a ‘normal situation’ he is able to control his drinking, but added: ‘There are times, though, when things have gone awry, and he can’t control his drinking, and it’s generally when something is going on in life that he can’t deal with.

‘That’s when he makes bad decisions and doesn’t know what he’s doing or why he’s doing it.

‘He doesn’t wake up in the morning craving a drink, or get violent. This is more like binges when he’s trying to drown something out.’

Coleen was reunited with her mum and two boys Kit, eight, and Cass, six, in camp during Saturday’s episode.

Over the past three weeks, Coleen has unknowingly won over viewers with her time in the jungle and has become a fan favorite to win.

However, during a touching moment with her mum, she revealed feeling nervous about how people back home might see her.

‘As I held her, one of the things she said to me was ‘mum, have I been boring?’ Colette says. ‘It broke my heart hearing that but I said, ‘no, you’ve been yourself and that’s all that matters.’

In a new interview, Colette shared that Coleen’s jungle adventure has been exactly what she needed after a challenging two years dominated by her High Court battle.

Watching her on screen, Colette feels the show has brought back her daughter’s energy and zest for life.

Asked what it was like as a mum seeing her daughter struggle during this time, she told the Mirror: ‘Horrendous, because at one time during the trial, we lost Coleen.

‘Coleen wasn’t Coleen. She couldn’t be herself. We didn’t know before the trial what was going on because she didn’t tell us. We noticed a difference in her behaviour, in her attitude, she even distanced herself.

‘So when it all came out, it was a relief for us, really, because then we knew what was going on. But now we’ve got her back fully.’

Coleen and new king of the jungle, Danny, are set to go head-to-head once again as they’re both being lined up to be major TV stars.

Sunday night’s nail-biting final saw the McFly rocker, 38, emerge victorious as he narrowly beat the WAG to the top spot.

But it seems the battle between the pair is far from over as ITV are reportedly courting the pair to front huge TV shows on the back of their success in the jungle.

During Sunday’s final, winner Danny told how he wanted to spend more time with his loved ones after admitting he ‘prioritised his job so much’.

However, ITV have other plans as bosses are keen to make the musician one of the major players on the channel alongside the likes of Joel Dommett and Bradley Walsh.

While Danny already appears on ITV’s The Voice UK alongside bandmate Tom Fletcher, the broadcaster are reportedly keen to sign him up for more, according to The Sun.

A source told the publication: ‘Danny is the embodiment of everything ITV loves. He’s fun, family friendly and incredibly popular.

‘Watching how popular he was on I’m A Celeb made him a key target for other shows they have coming up.

‘Danny is a brilliant musician, but he is also great on TV.’

The insider adder: ‘ITV bosses want to see if they can sign him on for another series of The Voice UK and there are other shows they think he could be perfect on.’

Meanwhile, Coleen is poised to become ITV’s new golden girl and is allegedly being lined up for a £1million TV deal with the channel.

A source reported to The Sun: ‘Coleen’s return to public life following the Wagatha Christie trial was carefully orchestrated — and it has more than paid off.

‘When she was in the jungle, she was being touted as ITV’s next Holly Willoughby and the offers have already started flooding in.

‘But there is one deal on the table that has really piqued her team’s interest.

‘Given Coleen’s love of the Loose Women show too, the team want her secured on their guest roster, with a view to finding something more permanent for her.’

The insider went on to add that in addition to TV deals, ‘lifestyle and nutritional brands’ and ‘high street retailers’ have been trying to entice her with lucrative contracts, noting: ‘The sky’s the limit’.
