Things took a slightly awkward turn during the latest episode of BBC Breakfast after Morning Live star Gethin Jones was caught out for making excuses.
On Friday’s instalment of BBC Breakfast, Naga Munchetty and Charlie Stayt were back on the iconic red sofa covering the latest news headlines.
After their heartfelt conversation, Charlie and Naga handed the reigns over to Gethin and Kimberley Walsh to share what was coming up on Morning Live, which airs right after BBC Breakfast.
But while talking via video link from his studio, Gethin appeared to land himself in hot water after he claimed he wanted to join Chris on his latest ride.

However, Chris put a stop to it as he revealed, “Well, he dodged a mountain bike ride with us last week. He was supposed to come on that but he made an excuse.”
Naga said: “So he’s that flaky friend, is he? Flaky!”
Laughing off the comment, Gethin didn’t have a comeback as he told Kimberley “let’s get on with it” as they went on to share what was coming up on the programme.
Welsh TV star Gethin, who has been a regular presenter on Morning Live since 2020, recently hit headlines after he was booted off a well-known dating app.

The star revealed he was kicked off the platform because users assumed that he was a catfish.
Explaining the story, he said on the new Restless Natives podcast: “A couple of weeks ago I was kicked off Hinge twice in eight hours for violating the Code of Conduct.
“Three hundred women had reported me for catfishing.”
He added: “It was that moment when you have to write to Hinge, on a Thursday night, all alone, ‘Dear Hinge, it’s Gethin here, 46, I just want to get my money back because it’s not really working for me’, eating some cereal because there’s nothing in the fridge.
“That’s when I’m like, ‘What am I doing with my life.”
