The Chase presenter Bradley Walsh welcomed four new players who took on Anne Hegerty in the hopes of winning some cash.
Anne Hegerty admitted defeat as she lost out to three players in the final round of The Chase.
Thursday’s instalment (February 6) of the ITV quiz show saw Bradley Walsh welcome four new contestants, William, Vonny, Lauren and Alex, who tested their general knowledge against The Governess.
William was the only contestant who didn’t make it through to the final chase, with Vonny, Lauren and Alex playing for £9,000.
The trio ended on a score of 19, with Anne recognising that it would be tough to beat. As the final seconds on the clock began to loom, the Governess started making mistakes as she attempted to answer quickly.
With five seconds remaining, Bradley asked: “Which comedian plays Rocky Cotton in EastEnders?”
But Anne couldn’t quite work out the answer as she quipped: “Erm, er… I can’t even remember!”

The timer ran out, meaning the team walked away with £3,000 each.
At the end of the show, Anne said: “That was really embarrassing. I’m an expert on the Marx Brothers but Groucho’s son was called Arthur. That’s what threw me.”
The game kickstarted with William, who showcased his knowledge by answering eight questions correctly in the cash builder.
The 32-year-old chose to stick with this offer as he took on The Governess. But in a shocking turn of events, he was caught by Anne after failing to answer a question correctly.
Vonny was up next and she proved to be as good a player as any, bringing £9,000 to the table. Recognising how easy it was for Anne to catch William, the 51-year-old decided to take the low offer of £3,000 and became the first player through to the final chase.

Hoping to join Vonny was Lauren, who answered six questions correctly in the cash builder. Clearly worried about Anne’s form, Lauren decided to also take the low offer, this time of £1,000.
She made it through to the final chase, taking the team’s total to £4,000. The final contestant to take on Anne was Alex, who answered five questions correctly in the cash builder.
Bradley tipped him to take Anne’s high offer of £80,000, but the 27-year-old decided to stick with what he’d earned. The software developer managed to outrun Anne and brought the team’s overall total to £9,000.
