“‘It Won’t Last Forever’ – Mikel Arteta Issues Ominous Title Warning to Liverpool”
“‘It Can All Fall Apart’ – Arteta Warns Liverpool About Title Race Challenges”
Mikel Arteta has cautioned Liverpool about the difficulties of maintaining their lead in the Premier League title race.
The Reds currently enjoy an eight-point cushion at the top as they prepare for a crucial showdown with Manchester City, having won 10 of their first 12 games.
However, history shows that even sizable leads can evaporate. In fact, there have been seven instances in Premier League history where a lead of 10 or more points was overturned by the eventual champions.
While Liverpool appears unstoppable both domestically and in Europe, Arteta knows firsthand how precarious a strong position can be. Speaking to Sky Sports ahead of Arsenal’s match against West Ham, Arteta reflected on his own experiences.
“We’ve been in that position, and sustaining it over 10 months is incredibly hard,” Arteta said. “You can think you have it, but one day it collapses. It could be a result, injuries, or unexpected decisions—it can happen at any time. You have to be prepared for that.”
Arteta added that Arsenal is still focused on chasing Liverpool, expressing full belief in his squad. “I really believe in my team, yes,” he said when asked if Arsenal can still claim their first title since 2003/04.
While Liverpool remains in a commanding position, Arteta’s warning serves as a reminder that the Premier League title race is far from over.
