Good Morning Britain’s Ed Balls was “pulled off air” as his wife Yvette Cooper was grilled by Susanna Reid.
Good Morning Britain viewers have accused the show of a “conflct of interest” as presenter Ed Balls wife, Home Secretary Yvette Cooper, was interviewed on the show while he was hosting.
Ed was cut off the screen and unable to be seen on air as the cameras focused on Susanna Reid,who led the interview, as Ed remained silent while his wife was ont he showl.
The show has been hit with accusations of a conflict of interest, with many people feeling that Susanna was bound to go easy on her due to her connection to Ed. They took to X to make their feelings known.
@Metroline10 wrote: “What?ed balls wife on,there is no way ed balls will ask his wife hard hitting questions,he will be in a doghouse if he does that,there is no way ed ball will interrupt his wife,this is a big conflict of interest,this shouldn’t be happening #gmb.” (SIC)

Ed has not interviewed his wife of 26 years on Good Morning Britain since August after the show was slammed when he and Kate Garraway discussed the riots wth her.
The programme faced a deluge of over 8,000 Ofcom complaints, relating to both Yvette’s segment and the manner in which Labour MP Zarah Sultana was interrogated in that episode.
When she returne to the show the following month Ed was absent as Richard Madeley hosted alongside Susanna. He has subsequently been relegated off screen when she makes an appearance.
