Good Morning Britain in HOSTING SHAKE-UP as Kate Garraway is joined by UNFAMILIAR FACE – and fans BEG for them to ‘BE MADE A PERMANENT PRESENTER’ ⬇️

Good Morning Britain viewers were greeted with a hosting shake-up on Friday morning as an unfamiliar face co-hosted the show alongside Kate Garraway.

While fans of the ITV show are used to the likes of Adhil Ray, Ed Balls or Richard Madeley joining Kate to front the show, the most recent installment saw ITV news correspondent Paul Brand step into the co-hosting seat.

At the start of the show, Kate warmly greeted her guest co-star amid his rare appearance on GMB, telling him: ‘Lovely to have you here by the way!’

To which Paul, who is ITV News’ UK Editor and also hosts the Tonight Programme, replied: ‘Great to be here this morning.’

And it seemed as though viewers agreed with Kate as they were quick to take to X, formerly known as Twitter, to share their delight at a new face on their screens, with many calling for Paul to be a ‘permanent presenter.

They penned: ‘Who is the lovely Paul? Such a lovely voice to wake up to. More of him please!’

‘Can Paul Brand be made a permanent presence on GMB? Proper questioning!’

‘@PaulBrandITV how lovely are you o the tele this morning ..that calming voice is so good to wake up to. Can we have him permanently please?’

‘Again?! I must have missed you before. I am really enjoying you this morning. Much better than the shouty male presenters normally on. Can you stay?’

‘Please keep Paul on , breath of fresh air’; ‘THANK YOU GOD! When you flick #GMB on and Richard Madeley isn’t on.’

At the start of the show, Kate remarked that it had been quite some time since Paul stepped into the anchor seat alongside her, with Paul responding: ‘It has been a little while.

‘I’m used to late nights rather than early mornings, but it’s lovely to be here this morning with you.’

To which Kate then quipped: ‘Brilliant thank you, we’ll see if you feel like that at nine o’clock!’

Ahead of his GMB return, Paul took to X to share a throwback snap of himself and Kate as he announced the news.

The hosting shake-up comes after Richard Madeley left his Good Morning Britain co-star stunned Susanna Reid when he revealed his ‘real voice’ live on Wednesday’s programme.

The host, 68, who hails from Romford, Essex, defiantly insisted that he wasn’t ‘putting it on!’ as he spoke in his genuine accent.

During the segment Richard and Susanna were joined by guests Andrew Pierce and Kevin Maguire to discuss if Northerners are better at detecting fake accents then their Southern counterparts.

‘So do you mean to tell me the voice you’re speaking in right now is put on?’ Susanna asked him.

Richard explained: ‘My dad was a public schoolboy, and he lived in Essex. He came back from Canada. He was a journalist, and he hated the dropped vowel.’

He added: ‘I was expected to speak like this at home, and it was the natural way of speaking.

‘But when I was at school at Rush Green, obviously if I spoke like that, I got beaten up, so I spoke like this,’ the presenter said as he switched into an Essex accent.

‘I am bilingual,’ he joked, ‘I am not putting it on; I am dropping into it, right? I am not acting it, right? I’m from Essex, right, and that is how I used to talk.’

Good Morning Britain continues weekdays from 6am on ITV.
