Good Morning Britain turns awkward as Susanna Reid scolded for ‘stupid question’

Good Morning Britain host Susanna Reid was scolded by Elon Musk’s father Errol Musk for asking a ‘stupid question’ on Wednesday’s show

Wednesday’s Good Morning Britain episode took an awkward turn when host Susanna Reid was scolded.

While speaking with Errol Musk, father of billionaire entrepreneur Elon Musk, during the latest segment of the show, Susanna, 54, alongside her fellow presenter Ed Balls, found herself told off for asking a ‘stupid question’.

Inquiring about his views on his son Elon, owner of entities such as X, Tesla, and Starlink, she asked: “I’m very interested, Errol, firstly in your analysis of your own son, Elon, is he a genius or completely bonkers?”

Errol, 79, swiftly retorted: “Of course he’s a genius, that’s ridiculous, what a stupid question!” This led Susanna to clarify: “Well, people have asked if he is in fact a madman and certainly there’s a degree of madness in being a genius! When did you last speak to him, when did you last spend time with him?”

To which he responded: “I last spent time with him at the launch of Starship a few months ago, I live away from him, I’m 10,000 miles from him but I was with him at the launch of Starship a few months ago”, reports the Manchester Evening News.

When probed about his current relationship with Elon, Errol revealed: “Very good, very very good, as good as a father wants it to be”, further stating: “I’m just his father, I’m there to give him advice if he asks for it that’s all!”

It follows after Susanna recently addressed her extended absence from the programme. At the start of December, Susanna conveyed her thanks to the audience and announced that she would be taking an extensive break from Good Morning Britain for the holiday season.

After a three-week hiatus, Susanna delighted her fans with the news of her return to the small screen this Monday.

After a three-week hiatus, Susanna delighted her fans on Sunday with the news of her return to the small screen on Monday.

Posting on Instagram, she shared an image of a warmly lit candle with the caption: “Happy New Year! See you on Monday.” Susanna also took the opportunity to debut her new hairstyle, posting a selfie flaunting her longer locks.

She wrote: “NEW YEAR NEW HAIR! After having THE CHOP in 2023, pop idol Cher told me women should keep their long hair so I am turning back time and going LONG for 2025 with hair extensions put in by @christinabhair. Let me know what you think – and see you tomorrow @gmb.”

While Susanna enjoyed her Christmas break, Kate Garraway stepped in to co-host Good Morning Britain with Richard Madeley.
