Manchester United will welcome the return of Bruno Fernandes and Manuel Ugarte from suspension ahead of their clash with Liverpool.
However, manager Ruben Amorim may still be without five players for the trip to Anfield.
Amorim revealed in his pre-match press conference that Marcus Rashford remains a doubt due to illness. “He’s still ill and hasn’t been training,” Amorim stated. “At the moment, it looks like he will be unavailable this week.”
Rashford, who has faced ongoing speculation about his future, was an unused substitute in United’s 2-0 loss to Newcastle and has missed the previous four matches entirely.
Additionally, United will be without Mason Mount, Luke Shaw, and Victor Lindelof due to injuries. Both Mount and Shaw have faced repeated setbacks after recently returning to fitness.
Meanwhile, Jonny Evans missed Monday’s match against Newcastle for unspecified reasons, though the club has included him in their squad update ahead of the Liverpool match.
Fernandes, despite receiving a red card against Wolverhampton Wanderers, will be available after serving a one-match suspension, as his earlier red card against Tottenham was overturned.
Ugarte also returns to the squad after missing the Newcastle game due to an accumulation of five yellow cards in the Premier League.
