I’m A Celebrity’s Oti Mabuse sparks concern from fans after star’s exit

I’m A Celebrity fans were left feeling confused and concerned after Oti Mabuse’s odd behaviour following another star’s exit from camp.

Oti Mabuse is a firm favourite in this year’s I’m a Celeb, winning the nation’s heart with her infectious energy, vulnerability and unwavering support for her campmates.

She was already a national treasure after appearing on Strictly Come Dancing first as a competitor and then a judge, but the jungle has revealed an even softer side to the star.

She’s built close bonds with all her campmates, often referring to DJ Melvin Odoom as like a “brother” who will be a lifelong friend.

Sadly the pair had to part ways as Melvin was voted out on Tuesday evening, with Melvin confessing: “She had my back at all times, she reminds me of my sister who I’m really close to.

“She made me feel comfortable. She was a great person to be in camp with.”

However one action after he was evicted placed fans in two camps, leaving some confused while others felt endeared.

After the DJ left, Oti was seen holding Melvin’s top while sniffing it before telling the camera she shed a tear, leading to differing responses by fans.

The I’m a Celebrity official X account posted the picture alongside the caption “Something tells me Oti is going to miss Melvin”

The replies were mixed, with one user @khomsi_miriam replying: “Is it just me or does it seem strange that oti is sniffing Melvin’s jacket like she is more than just friends.. you do things like that with a guys clothing that you fancy or in love with not just someone you’re friends with”

However one user @Imogen_Alanah found the action heartwarming rather than strange, hitting back: “It is just you. I do it with my grandads old clothes. She’s married and they both call eachother brother and sister. Stop trying to make it weird.”

Others posted about the pair independently, such as aptly named @MissMarple33x, commenting: “Oti why don’t you just marry him Melvin? Friends my a**”

Oti has acted as a rock to many campmates, especially Melvin after facing a particularly harsh night in camp of torrential downpours which Ant and Dec branded the worst they’d seen in the show.

She urged Melvin on in a moment of need, encouraging him: “We have to remember why we’re here, what we stand for, who is watching us, and what it means when we do well.”
