ITV Emmerdale double exit ‘confirmed’ for soap legends in heartbreaking death twist

Emmerdale viewers are convinced that the ITV soap has confirmed two characters are going to be killed off in a heartbreaking ‘Romeo and Juliet’ twist in the Dales.

Emmerdale is set to shock viewers with the potential departure of two cherished characters, causing unrest among its fanbase.

Recently, Ruby Fox-Miligan, played by Beth Cordingly, experienced major upheavals when her long-lost father Anthony, portrayed by Nicholas Day, unexpectedly joined the soap’s village life. This family reunion follows shortly after the arrival of her daughter Steph, role undertaken by Georgia Jay.

As Anthony becomes a fixture in the community, Ruby’s behaviour indicates shes concealing dark secrets about her past with her father a distress underscored by her betrayal of Caleb (William Ash) with his half-brother Cain (Jeff Hordley).

It transpires that Ruby was sexually abused by Anthony in her childhood, and recent plot twists hint at the bombshell possibility that Anthony might also be Steph’s biological father.

Ruby recently unburdened her fears about Steph’s paternity on Chas Dingle, played by Lucy Pargeter, although she stops short of confessing the harrowing suspicion regarding Anthony. Desperate for answers, Ruby takes steps towards the truth by ordering a DNA test to establish whether Caleb could be ruled out as Steph’s dad.

However, sharp-eyed Emmerdale enthusiasts are convinced the show has all but ‘confirmed’ the imminent demise of both Ruby and Caleb following poignant scenes between them.

Just this week, a touching interlude showed the couple swaying to ‘their song’ on the radio, igniting nostalgic reminiscences from Caleb to Steph: “There we were, me and your mum, playing tunes like this and sneaking around. Hiding in corners and well several things lead to several other things.”, reports Leeds Live.

Fans brace themselves for what could unfold as one of Emmerdale’s most heart-wrenching twists to date.

Anthony made a sinister comment (Image: ITV)

Antony suddenly appeared on the scene, observing as Caleb referred to him and said: “And you know what? It was all to avoid the disapproval of someone not a million miles from here.”

Antony then interjected with a quip: “I guess you were the modern day Romeo and Juliet,” a sentiment that Caleb agreed with. However, fans have interpreted Anthony’s comment as a foreboding hint towards Caleb and Ruby’s demise.

One viewer speculated on an Emmerdale Facebook fan page: “My prediction is that Caleb and Ruby die, clue is ‘the modern day Romeo and Juliet’,’ said one person on an Emmerdale Facebook fan page.Someone else agreed: “. Another fan concurred: “I thought exactly the same.”

A third echoed these sentiments on X, writing: “Erm ‘Modern day Romeo and Juliet’ comment in tonight’s Emmerdale…” They continued: “That better not be a hint to Caleb and Ruby both dying later this year. Ruby is one of the best things to happen to Emmerdale in a long time, so I’ll be raging,” they added.
