ITV I’m A Celebrity star RUSHED out of camp after BEGGING for help in UNAAIRED scenes.

I’m A Celeb star Melvin Odoom has told how he was on the verge of quitting the show, having to be rescued in the middle of the night by a security guard.

I’m a Celeb’s Melvin Odoom has opened up about the harrowing moment when he nearly walked away from the hit show. Speaking exclusively to the Mirror, Melvin shared for the first time the terrifying ordeal that saw him rescued by a security guard amid a storm after his desperate cries for assistance.

The incident unfolded as he awoke soaked during a nocturnal tempest, having struggled with hunger the previous evening. “I had my mic on, and I was like, ‘guys, I want help.’ This guy came out like a commando…he had a light on, and he’s like, ‘Melvin, are you okay? Come with me,'” he recounted.

Audiences were moved as they witnessed Melvin breaking down in tears with Oti Mabuse on the night of the drama. However, the star confessed that what viewers saw was just the tip of the iceberg, as many campmates rallied around him in his time of need.

When quizzed whether he considered leaving the show, he confessed: “Yes, because I found it difficult, and I thought the finish line seemed quite far away.”

Yet, he resolved to persevere, motivated by his early exit from Strictly Come Dancing, reports the Mirror.

He concluded: “I didn’t want to let my family down. And the most similar process to this that I’ve ever done in my life was Strictly and I was the first person out, and I was aware of that in my head.”

Melvin candidly shared that his natural emotional disposition left him feeling sheepish in camp, contrasting himself with strong figures such as Oti and Alan, and Coleen who hardly shed a tear. “You’ve got people like Oti and Alan who are really strong, and Coleen, who I don’t think she shed a tear once during the time when I was there,” he noted.

“And I was like, ‘How can I sit here crying when these guys have got little babies at home, and they’re just holding it together?'”

Melvin was the fourth celebrity to leave the I’m A Celebrity jungle and during his live chat with Ant and Dec, he admitted: “I was ready to go. The best thing about that camp is the people, I loved every single person in there.”

When speaking about his close bond with Oti, he added: “Oti reminds me of my sister who I am really close to. As you guys, know she’s super positive and super funny at all times which you need in camp.”
