Good Morning Britain fans thought Kate Garraway wasn’t being ‘sincere’ when it came to her time as Spag Bol.

Kate Garraway was accused of showing her “true colours” on Good Morning Britain this week as she discussed her time on ITV talent competition The Masked Singer.

Kate was unmasked as Spag Bol this weekend after wowing fans with her vocal range.

But back on the GMB presenting desk alongside Ed Balls and Susanna Reid, Kate was asked to change back into her iconic costume after presenting the entertainment news – and some fans think she didn’t seem too keen.

Kate admitted: “I’m excited!” when Susanna told her to go and change, but her enthusiasm wasn’t enough for some viewers.

Taking to X, formerly Twitter, one posted: “Don’t think Kate was very sincere when she said she was excited about her Masked Singer costume… showing her true colours?”

Live on GMB, Kate posed next to her costume, admitting: “It was very exciting slash traumatising for the family. I got my kids to watch, which they were very confused about. They were going, ‘Why are you forcing us to watch in real time?’”

Susanna branded it the “TV moment” of the weekend, outstripping the Golden Globes as Kate’s big reveal aired.

But more GMB fans were left fuming that the show had no “real” to talk about – despite an emotional segment on a crash that killed three young people and details of the snow chaos hitting the UK.

One wrote: “Are you guys really having an in depth conversation about Susanna’s hair extensions? Important issues, such as Kate’s Spag Bol is understandable. But Susanna’s need to draw attention to her hair is not on the same level.”

Another posted: “This proves GMB in 2025 will be the same as 2024 no real news just stupid entertainment stories. Britain is in crisis, the world is in crisis, but this show is all about reality TV shows.”

“So 10 mins on this subject when you could be talking about REAL NEWS, NEWS THAT MATTERS, NEWS THAT NEEDS TO REPORTED ON. Focus on real people and real news no someone who wants the limelight all the time,” another echoed.

Others, however, loved Kate’s role on the show, with one gushing: “Great performances tonight Prue Leith and Kate Garraway out of this world, can’t wait for next week!”
