Following Meghan Markle’s first tease on her Instagram at the start of the year, her best friend was quick to show his support for the Duchess and her brand.

Meghan Markle’s best friend was quick to show his support after the Duchess of Sussex shared her first post on Instagram on New Year’s Day with a previously unknown social media handle.

In the video shared with her hundreds of thousands of followers, Meghan strolls along a beach and draws the digits of the New Year – 2025 – into the sand, before giggling and running across the camera screen.

Daniel Martin, who is often described as the mother-of-two’s best friend, was quick to show his support for the Duchess of Sussex, sharing the clip on his onw Instagram and writing: “My sis is back.”

Make-up pro, Daniel, is thought to have known Meghan for over a decade, having met her while the former actress worked on the TV show, Suits. The pair reportedly kept in touch and while working on her defunct blog The Tig, Meghan asked Daniel to give her some help.

Make-up expert Daniel was also by Meghan’s side on her wedding day in 2018 as he perfected her makeup glow. He was responsible for her well-groomed brows, clean luminous skin, and soft-pink lips on the day to create a natural and fresh bridal look.

Daniel is a New York-based makeup artist who began his career as an independent makeup artist in 2004. Over the years, his work has since been featured in glossy fashion magazines such as Vogue.

He has previously gushed over the “instant connection” he and Meghan had when they met. He said: “I knew what she wanted—it was one of those things where, she looked at herself in the mirror and was like, ‘Oh my God, this is what I always wanted, but I didn’t know how to get there.'”

After nearly a five-year hiatus from social media, Meghan has returned to Instagram and has quickly gained one million followers (at the time of writing) after two posts.

Meghan’s second post on her account, uploaded today, was the trailer for her upcoming Netflix series ‘With Love, Meghan’, due to be released on January 15.

Fans of Meghan were treated to scenes of her cooking her favourite dishes reportedly in her kitchen in the Sussexes Montecito, California, home along with some famous guests and friends. Even Prince Harry made a quick appearance in the trailer for a few seconds, with the two embracing.

In a full description of the series, Netflix said: “Meghan shares personal tips and tricks, embracing playfulness over perfection and highlights how easy it can be to create beauty, even in the unexpected. She and her guests roll up their sleeves in the kitchen, the garden, and beyond, and invite you to do the same.”

Meghan also posted her own personal caption to her Instagram post of the trailer. She said: “I have been so excited to share this with you! I hope you love the show as much as I loved making it. Wishing you all a fantastic new year! Thanks to our amazing crew and the team @netflix. Beyond grateful for the support – and fun! As ever, Meghan.”

In the voice over of the video, Meghan explains how she enjoys “surprising people” with moments to let them know she was thinking of them.

Prince Harry and Meghan’s two children, Prince Archie, five, and Princess Lilibet, three, do not feature in the teaser, yet it appears fans will be to be able to see into their stunning home life instead.
