Prince Harry suspected a “cover-up” as he is said to have demanded arrests be made after the New York City “car chase” last year, it has been reported.

The royal, who had reportedly grown “suspicious” over the treatment of the incident, claimed there was a cover-up, letters and emails obtained by the Daily Mail.

One missive from his security company to the New York Police Department said: “The Duke [of Sussex] feels intentionally misled and is suspicious of a cover-up.”

The publication reported that Harry – who was present through the “car chase” with his wife Meghan Markle and her mother Doria Ragland – also demanded that arrests be made the very next day and threatened to make an official complaint.

Harry’s demand is said to have come after John Hart, the NYPD’s top intelligence officer, had sent police in London two letters.

One letter is reported to have stated that there was not enough evidence to make arrests – whilst a second – three months later – stated that there was.

To this date, there have been no arrests made in connection to the incident – which took place in May 2023.

The initial letter from John Hart was sent three months after the incident – in September 2023. The second arrived on December 6 that year. This came midway through a hearing in connection to his security battle in the UK.

An email from TorchStone was then sent that stated Harry was upset at the pace of the nvestigation and felt “intentionally misled”. Harry is said to have demanded that arrests were made the day after the incident in the Big Apple.

Just days after Harry’s solo appearance at King Charles’s Coronation, the couple had been leaving the Ms. Foundation for Women of Vision Awards at the Ziegfeld Ballroom on May 16, 2023.

One member of Meghan and Harry’s security team, a man named Chris Sanchez from TorchStone, told CNN that the incident had been “chaotic” – adding that it “could have been fatal”.

They claimed that it had involved ruthless photographers jumping curbs and going through red lights. Footage, which was previously captured by TMZ, showed the Duke, 40, and Duchess of Sussex, 43, in a taxi at one point.
