Ruth Langsford has publicly supported ex-husband Eamonn Holmes on social media for the first time since the couple announced their split earlier this year

Ruth Langsford has publicly shown her support for Eamonn Holmes for the first time since their surprising separation. The pair shocked the entertainment industry in May when they revealed their plans to divorce.
Since then, Eamonn has found a new partner, but he was there for Ruth, 64, during her emotional visit to her ailing mother, Joan, in hospital earlier this week.
Now, it seems Ruth is reciprocating the support. She responded to a post about Eamonn, 65, last appearing on GB News for this year – although he will be back in January without his co-host.
Isabel Webster, Eamonn’s co-host, posted a picture of herself and the father-of-four on Instagram with the caption: “Final show from us for 2024. Thanks for your company this year. See you soon! Merry Christmas – I hope you all find some peace and joy.”
Ruth liked the post, showing her support for her ex-husband just days before they are set to spend Christmas apart.

This comes after Eamonn liked one of Ruth’s posts where she shared that her dear mother had suffered a fall and fractured her pelvis.
On Instagram, the Loose Women presenter shared a photo of herself holding her mother’s hand and wrote: “No dancing in my kitchen peeling the veg for my darling Mum this Christmas….she’s had a fall and fractured her pelvis!”
After liking the post, Eamonn expressed how much he missed his own mother, sharing: “When folk ask me ‘What do u want for Christmas? Three Christmases without u now Mum and you are still top of my wish list. What do u want for Christmas?

Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford announced their split in May
Amidst ongoing conjecture, despite reconnecting on social media, the couple’s divorce appears to be proceeding. Inside sources indicate Eamonn and Ruth have their sights set on a swift settlement, with Ruth expected to retain their £3.5 million Surrey mansion.
Sources divulged to The Sun that the pair are eager for a resolution in the New Year, clarifying: “The aim is for Eamonn and Ruth to resolve their divorce as quickly as possible in the New Year,” and further revealed, “Ruth is keen to stay in their marital home as it is where she is settled, Eamonn on the other hand wants to get out and make a fresh start. They aren’t dragging their heels and want this settled and done as quickly as possible.”
Complicating matters, Eamonn has been subject to rumours of an engagement to new love interest, Katie Alexander, stirred by the sight of an ostentatious ring on her finger during a Paris retreat just last week.
A confidante claimed to the publication: “Eamonn has been talking openly about his plans to marry Katie and has made it clear he wants to spend the rest of his life with her.”
