Chris McCausland has spoken out again responding to fans saddened by his and Dianne Buswell’s ‘split’, post their stunning victory in December’s Strictly Come Dancing.

Chris, the show’s first blind contestant, and professional dancer Dianne teamed up for the 20th series in September, culminating in clinching the title at the glittering final of the 2024 series.

When Tess Daly declared them the new champions, an emotional scene ensued as Chris wept and embraced Dianne, both seemingly stunned, followed by celebrations with their fellow stars.

Despite their victory, Chris and Dianne will not reunite like previous winners for this year’s Strictly Come Dancing Live 2025 tour, as they’ve pursued separate paths reports the Manchester Evening News.

Chris is set for a return to stand-up comedy, resuming his ‘Yonks!’ tour which he had postponed for the dance competition.

He recently announced: “My stand-up tour #Yonks continues in a couple of weeks time. The first three months of the year are completely sold out, but tickets are available for some dates from April onwards..”

During his appearance on This Morning, where he was initially revealed as a contestant for Strictly’s 2024 series, Chris expressed mixed feelings about his dance journey: “It’s fine to have two different feelings about the same thing. I would’ve loved to have done more dancing with Dianne and it would’ve been a lot of fun, but also I’m very lucky to have people want to watch me do stand-up and I’m enjoying getting back into that.”

Reflecting on his stint on Strictly, Chris shared what irked him during the competition. After watching a highlight reel including his first time sitting on the famous sofa, Ben Shephard complimented dance partner Dianne, prompting Chris to say: “Incredible, but this is what winds me up when we started it, everybody was like, ‘Ah, isn’t Chris amazing?”

“‘How is he doing this? This is remarkable! ‘ At about six or seven shows in, it all changed to, ‘How’s Dianne doing this? ‘ I thought, ‘Hang on, what about me? !'” Chris recounted with humour alongside hosts Ben and Cat Deeley.
