Susanna Reid on the SPOT as Andrew Marr asks about Piers Morgan’s RETURN to GMB.

SUSANNA REID appeared on The Andrew Marr Show on Sunday morning and was questioned about the possibility of Piers Morgan making a comeback to ITV’s Good Morning Britain.

Susanna Reid was welcomed onto The Andrew Marr Show on Sunday morning to review the headlines of the day. But, while he had the Good Morning Britain host on the show, Andrew couldn’t help quizzing Susanna about Piers Morgan’s dramatic exit from the ITV show.

After chatting to Susanna about the upcoming Euro 2020 final, Andrew took the opportunity to ask her about her former co-star.

Andrew said: “Susanna you mentioned Wembley just now, I did notice that you were alongside a certain Piers Morgan at a previous game there.

“I just wonder, is this the beginning of the rapprochement, the relationship?

“Are we going to see him back alongside you on television do we think anytime?” he asked.

Although she avoided mentioning any possible return of Piers on Good Morning Britain, Susanna quickly replied: “Oh Piers remains a great friend.

“I know he’ll be watching this morning. In fact, I didn’t see Piers at Wembley, I did see his son Spencer.

“But, morning Piers! How are you doing?” she said waving at the camera.

This comes after Piers quit Good Morning Britain back in March.

BBC viewers quickly took to Twitter to comment on Susanna’s words about her former co-star.

One fan suggested Susanna may have indicated that a return of Piers to Good Morning Britain isn’t off the table.

They said: “Interesting that @susannareid100 didn’t say Piers was NOT going back to gmb … #Marr.”

Another agreed, adding: “#Marr @susannareid100 Time @piersmorgan made a comeback.”

Piers quit Good Morning Britain earlier this year, having stormed off during that morning’s ITV show.

He left the programme following a row over comments he made about the Duchess of Sussex.

Piers got into a heated debate with his co-star Alex Beresford live on-air and eventually walked off the set.

Ever since, Susanna has continued hosting the show with a range of different co-presenters taking Piers’ place.

Ben Shephard, Ranvir Singh and Richard Madeley are some of the stars who have hosted the show alongside Susanna since Piers left the show.

Many fans have been left wondering what Piers will do next and in May he addressed the possibility of making a comeback to Good Morning Britain.

In an interview, he said: “I have had some quite random third-party feelers put out to see if I would consider a return to the show.

“As the Americans say, they reached out – there have been approaches to test the water in the wake of their obvious ratings issues.

“It makes me sad to see all the hard work we did to beat the BBC in viewing numbers evaporate so fast.

“It’s their problem to work out . . . but never say never,” Piers told The Sun.
