There was ‘DISAPPOINTMENT’ for I’m A Celebrity hosts Ant McPartlin and Dec Donnelly’: “WE ARE VERY DISAPPOINTED WITH Dean McCullough”

There was “disappointment” for I’m A Celebrity hosts Ant McPartlin and Dec Donnelly on Tuesday night, as Dean McCullough quit his Bushtucker Trial.

Asked about the moment on spin-off series Unpacked, the hosts quickly confessed they were not too happy about the early end of the trial. Explaining that they like to see a trial through to the end given how long they take to sort, Ant and Dec told Joel Dommett about their frustration as Dean only lasted for two questions.

Locked inside a mummy figurine for the duration of the trial, it all became too much for the campmate and he screamed the famous line: “I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here…” Dean had learned from hosts Ant and Dec that he’d have to answer a series of Egypt-related questions. For every question that he got right, a star would be lowered down and he would have to release it using only his mouth within 30 seconds.

Soon Dean quit the trial and was left sobbing and struggling to catch his breath. As Ant and Dec reacted to Dean’s decision they were visibly shocked, with Dec pulling a face at the camera.

When they saw how upset he was they headed over to comfort him, checking he was okay and telling him to breathe. Now, the hosts have confessed they weren’t entirely happy about the early end of the trial.

Joel asked if it was “disappointing” to which both Ant and Dec immediately said yes. Dec then went on: “Yeah, it’s because you are prepared for a whole trial and you want to see the whole thing.

“When it’s that early it’s like ugh, you’re not going to get the full impact of the trial.” Ant went on: “Well that’s part of the reason why we kept asking the questions because we really enjoyed it.”

Dec then spoke about the need to calm Dean down and make sure he was okay so that he could go back to camp happy. After “having a bit of fun” with him to lighten the mood, he talked of making sure Dean could go back with a smile on his face.

Both hosts were unsure how the next trial would go, with both Dean and GK Barry voted to do the trial together. Given the latest episode, Ant confessed he wasn’t sure it would go to plan.

Dec said: “I am intrigued about how they are gonna [get on]. They’re a pair of screamers… will we get through it? I don’t know.” Ant went on: “I don’t know if they will I’m not sure,” adding he was worried they would pull out.
